Chapter 622 Suicide Threats
Marina’s pitiful expression vanished in an instant, replaced by wild, unrestrained hysteria.
She let out a sharp, piercing shriek and leapt up from the floor with surprising agility for her age, lunging headfirst toward the nearest wall.
“You won’t agree, will you! You’re trying to push us over the edge!” she cried out, voice trembling with dramatic despair. “Fine! If you don’t say yes today, I’ll smash my skull right here! Since Teresa has lost a dignity, this old woman might as well die too!”
“Oh my God!”
Miranda gasped, rushing forward without hesitation. She wrapped her arms around Marina’s waist, pulling her back just in time to prevent a bloody scene.
What made the situation even more absurd was Wilson–her husband–who hadn’t moved an inch the entire time.
Not only did he show no concern for his wife’s safety, but a cold, almost pleased glint flickered in his eyes.
As if the tension weren’t already high enough, he added mockingly. “Well… if someone actually ends up dead and the police get involved, that’s going to be quite difficult to explain, won’t it?”
It was classic bully logic–like they had them backed into a corner.
If Sebastian refused today, his own relative would die right in front of him, leaving him with that stigma
for life.
Too bad Sebastian had never been one to yield to cheap threats.
While everyone else was too angry to speak, he remained completely composed.
Expressionless, he took out his phone.
“It’s me. Assemble a medical team immediately and bring full emergency equipment to my room in the main house at the estate.”
He hung up, glanced at Marina–who was still thrashing and wailing in Miranda’s arms–and curled his lip
in disdain.
“You want to die?” he said coolly. “Go ahead. As long as you’re not afraid of surviving with severe brain damage, or spending the rest of your life paralyzed and in pain after they revive you… be my guest.
“Because honestly, I couldn’t care less whether you live or die.”
Marina froze mid–sob.
A sround later, she burst into even louder cries, collapsing into Miranda’s arms and thrashing about like a child, accusing, Sebastian of disrespecting his elders and bullying the weak.
For a moment, the room descended into pure chaos.
It felt dirty, oppressive, and utterly suffocating.
Then, right in the middle of the commotion, Riley’s voice cut clearly through the noise.
“Enough.”
Marina’s wailing stopped abruptly.
All eyes turned to Riley.
She stood there, slight in frame, but her expression was unusually steady.
Her clear eyes held a frosty calm that made everyone uneasy.
She walked straight over to the older woman and looked at her evenly.
They’re willing to talk–that means there’s still a chance!
They’re backing down!
