The Silver Wolf (Diana and Talon) novel Chapter 75

Chapter Seventy Five

Claim

“I will issue a pack-wide mind link,” Talon said, his tone firm but measured as he turned to Diana. “I don’t want our members panicking.”

Diana nodded immediately.

“As their Luna, I can already feel their anxiety” she admitted quietly.

She placed a hand lightly over her chest, eyes unfocused for a moment as she reached through the invisible threads that connected her to the pack.

“They felt it the moment Beta Conall stepped across our borders,” she continued. “Even if his scent is different… it still carries that edge.”

She looked back at Talon.

“They don’t understand the difference,” Diana said. “To them, it registers as one thing.”

Her voice softened slightly.

“Rogue.”

Talon’s expression hardened.

He knew she was right.

The Black Howler royal pack had fought rogues for years. Not just for the royal pack, for the allied packs as well. They sent warriors where they needed-lost warriors to them, defended their borders against them. The scent alone was enough to trigger instinct.

Fear.

Aggression.

Defense.

Without warning, a single misunderstanding could turn into chaos.

Talon stepped forward slightly, his posture shifting.

His eyes darkened-

Then blurred.

Diana felt it immediately.

The powerful pull of his Alpha King command spreading through the pack bond.

And then-

His voice.

Clear.

Unavoidable.

“This is your Alpha King

The entire pack stilled.

From the training grounds to the kitchens, from patrol routes to resting quarters-every member froze, instinctively listening.

“As you are all aware, two wolves have entered our territory today, and one of them is carrying a rogue

scent.”

A ripple of unease passed through the bond.

Diana could feel it.

Fear.

Confusion.

Alertness.

Talon continued, his voice steady, grounding.

“I assure you-every member of this pack is safe.”

The tension didn’t disappear-but it steadied.

“They are not a threat,” Talon said firmly. “And they are not feral rogues.”

He paused just long enough for his words to sink in.

“They are the Rogue King and his Beta.”

Shock.

That word alone sent a wave through the pack.

Even Diana felt it.

Curiosity.

Suspicion.

Concern.

Claims

“They will remain within our territory temporarily,” Talon continued, “until the completion of your Luna and my marking ceremony.”

Diana felt the bond shift again.

This time-

Something softer.

Something steadier.

Pride.

Acceptance.

“Their movement within the pack will be restricted,” Talon added. “They will not go anywhere unaccompanied. At all times, one of our own will be with them.”

That eased some of the tension.

Control.

Structure.

Safety.

Claim

“If any of you feel threatened,” Talon continued, his voice lowering slightly, “or if any issue arises-you will report directly to me or your Luna.”

Diana felt the weight of that.

Felt the pack turning toward her as well.

Looking to her.

Trusting her.

“Remain calm,” Talon finished. “Remain vigilant. And continue your duties.”

The link faded.

But the energy remained.

Diana exhaled slowly.

“They’re still uneasy,” she said quietly. “But they trust you.”

Talon looked at her.

“They trust us,” he corrected.

Diana gave a small nod.

Then her gaze shifted slightly-toward the direction where Damon stood waiting.

“They’re watching,” she murmured.

“Of course they are,” Talon said.

He stepped closer to her, his presence solid, grounding.

“This changes everything.”

Diana didn’t disagree.

Because it did.

The Rogue King inside their territory.

An alliance on the table.

A challenge left unspoken.

And a marking ceremony approaching.

The pack was steady-for now.

But beneath the surface-

Something was building.

And they all felt it.

Claim

“Your room will be prepared,” Talon said, his tone returning to calm authority as he faced Damon. “I will have my sister escort you there. She will act as your chaperone-for now.”

There was no mistaking the meaning behind his words.

You are not free here.

You are tolerated.

Damon’s lips curved slightly, but he gave a small nod.

“Understood.”

“But before that,” Diana added, her voice cutting in smoothly, “you need to stop hiding your scent.”

Her gaze locked onto Damon’s.

“It is… unsettling not being able to fully scent you.”

There was a subtle shift in the room.

Damon held her gaze for a moment longer-then smiled faintly.

“As the queen requests,” he said lightly.

Without another word, he released his control.

Instantly-

The air changed.

A deeper, richer scent spread through the room.

Not wild like feral rogues.

Not chaotic.

But powerful.

Structured.

Dominant.

Still unmistakably rogue-

But refined.

Controlled.

Ancient.

Diana inhaled slowly.

“Yes…” she murmured. “That is better.”

Talon, however, didn’t relax.

His eyes blurred again.

Mind-link.

Diana felt it ripple outward, more focused this time.

“Willow,” Talon called through the bond, his tone directed and firm. “Come to my office.”

Then he shifted slightly and spoke aloud again.

‘Enzo,” Talon said, his voice carrying toward the door, “you can enter-with Beta Conall.”

The door opened almost immediately.

Clam

Enzo stepped in first, his posture alert, his gaze sharp as it immediately landed on Damon-then shifted to Conall.

Conall moved without hesitation, stepping directly to Damon’s side.

Loyal.

Protective.

Unmoving.

Enzo’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“Did you really just say they can stay inside our territory?” Enzo asked, disbelief laced through his voice as he looked at Talon.

Talon met his gaze evenly.

“Yes.”

A beat of silence passed.

+will give you the full details later,” Talon added, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Enzo exhaled slowly, clearly holding back more questions.

“Understood… Alpha King.

But his eyes flickered once more toward Damon.

Watching.

Measuring.

Calculating.

Diana noticed it.

Good.

He should.
