The Silver Wolf (Diana and Talon) novel Chapter 126

Chapter One Hundred Twenty Six

Clam

Talon and Diana entered the food hall together the following morning. Talon’s hand remained at Diana’s lower back, not because she truly needed support anymore, but because after nearly losing her, he seemed unwilling to let too much distance exist between them.

Diana noticed. Of course she noticed. But this time, she did not say anything. Because truthfully-she

liked it.

The food hall was already alive with movement. Warriors eating before training. Healers talking quietly near one corner. Parents helping their pups with breakfast. The warm scent of food filled the room. Yet Talon and Diana noticed Damon and Willow immediately. Not because they were the Rogue King and his Luna. Not because they stood at the center of the room.

But because they were surrounded. Completely surrounded. Pups/sat around Willow on chairs, on the floor, some even kneeling beside her while excitedly talking over each other. Parents stood nearby smiling helplessly at their children. Damon stood beside Willow, holding a tray of food that Willow clearly had not touched yet because she was too busy listening to everyone around her.

And surprisingly-the Rogue King looked perfectly content waiting. Even when two pups had somehow claimed both of his legs as seats. Talon narrowed his eyes slightly.

“… What are they doing to him?” Fenrir asked suspiciously.

Talon blinked.

“What?”

“They are climbing our enemy. And right now, he looks like a bug easy for me to squeeze.”

Talon stared.

“…He’s not our enemy. And do not let Diana hear you, or you will be the one who is sorry.”

Fenrir was quiet.

For a moment.

“… Temporary not-enemy. And my mate loves me and will not be angry at me,” Fenrir said but went back to the back of his mind like a scared pup who is afraid of getting caught doing something he is not supposed to do.

Talon sighed internally. Nearby, Diana was already smiling. Because she could hear Willow talking.

“Luna, do you really think I can become a warrior like my father?”

One little pup looked up at Willow with wide hopeful eyes.

Willow smiled warmly.

“Of course.”

She reached out and brushed his hair gently.

You can become anything you dedicate your heart and mind to.”

The pup stared at her carefully.

“But remember something important.”

Willow’s expression softened.

“To become someone… you have to work hard for it.”

She pointed lightly toward the pup’s father.

“Just like your father does every day.”

The pup immediately straightened.

“Yeah!”

His eyes sparkled.

“My father trains every day!”

He looked proudly toward his father.

“He said he trains so he can protect me and my mother!”

His tiny chest puffed up.

“I want to become just like him. A brave and strong warrior.”

Willow smiled. Not just at the pup-but at his parents. The mother looked emotional. The father looked proud enough to explode.

“Thank you, Luna,” they both said quietly.

Willow immediately shook her head.

“There’s nothing to thank me for.”

She smiled gently.

“Your son only wants to become what he sees every day.”

Her gaze moved around the room.

“Most male pups I know want to become like their fathers.”

“And most female pups want to become strong like their mothers.”

Then she laughed softly.

“Though some want both.”

The parents around them laughed quietly. Then-Willow looked up. And immediately spotted Talon and Diana. Her eyes brightened. At almost the exact same moment- the pups noticed too. Then chaos happened.

“LUNA QUEEN!”

The shout echoed through the entire food hall. Diana blinked. Then suddenly-small feet were charging toward her from every direction. Talon instinctively stiffened.

“Incoming,” Fenrir warned.

Diana nearly laughed. Before Talon could react, Diana lowered herself carefully to their level.

“Good morning, pups.”

The children gathered around her immediately.

“Good morning Luna Queen!”

Diana smiled brightly.

“Good morning.”

The little pup from before suddenly squeezed through the others.

“I’m going to become a warrior like my father!”

He announced proudly. Behind him, his parents looked horrified.

“Elias!”

“Don’t shout at the Luna Queen!”

The little boy immediately froze.

“Oh no…”

His eyes widened.

“I’m sorry Luna Queen.”

Diana blinked. Then smiled.

“I heard you.”

The little boy looked confused.

“You did?”

Diana nodded.

“And I agree with your Luna Willow.”

Silence. Then all the pups stared at her.

“I think you can become whatever you want.”

She smiled gently.

“As long as you put your mind…”
