The Silver Wolf (Diana and Talon) novel Chapter 110

Chapter One Hundred Ten

Clam

The air had changed. Not subtly. Not gradually. It pressed-thick, heavy, suffocating-like the forest itself had begun to breathe wrong. Ravenna stepped closer, her white garments whispering against the ground as her gaze flicked between Diana and Talon.

There was urgency now. Real urgency. No more distance. No more riddles.

“When I give you the word…” she said, her voice low but steady, “you both need to run.”

Talon’s eyes narrowed instantly. “Run?”

Ravenna didn’t hesitate. “We are close to the Rogue Kingdom’s borders.” A pause-her gaze locking onto Talon. “You can mindlink your sister.”

That made Talon stiffen. “How do you know that my sister is in the Rogue Kingdom?” Suspicion sharpened

his tone.

Ravenna didn’t flinch. “Because,” she said quietly, “it’s not only Thorne who is keeping track of the wolves.”

That answer didn’t satisfy him. It made things worse. “Why are you watching us?” Talon demanded, aura rising slightly. “What do you and Thorne want?”

“Enough, Talon.” Diana’s voice cut in-not harsh, but firm. She stepped slightly closer to him, her presence grounding. “This isn’t the time.”

Ravenna gave a faint nod. “Your Luna is correct.” Her eyes flicked briefly toward the dark figure of Thorne

in the distance.

“This is not the moment for answers.” A pause. Then softer- “Thorne is strong.” That word-strong-was not said lightly.

“Even if I wanted to,” Ravenna continued, “I cannot defeat him.”

Diana’s brows furrowed. “Even if you wanted to?” Confusion slipped into her tone. “I thought you were here to help us.”

Ravenna turned to her. And for a moment-Something fragile surfaced in her expression.

“I am helping you,” she said. A breath. “I will help you escape.” A pause. Then, firmer- “But I will not fight Thorne.”

Diana’s gaze sharpened. “Why?”

Ravenna didn’t answer. Not immediately. Her eyes flickered-toward Thorne, then away.

“There is no time.” Her voice hardened again. “You need to prepare.”

She stepped back slightly, as if already positioning herself between them and the inevitable.

“When I give the signal…” A pause. “You run. To the Rogue Kingdom.”

Diana frowned slightly. “You’re sure they won’t follow us there?”

Ravenna nodded once. “I’m certain.”

“”How?” Diana pressed.

Ravenna exhaled slowly. “Because Thome does not act without purpose.” Her gaze darkened.

“He plans everything.” A step closer.

“This attack?” She gestured faintly around them-the ferals, the forest, the tension.

“It was never random.”

Diana felt something cold settle in her chest.

Claim

“He knew,” Ravenna continued, “that you would look for answers. He knew you would seek out the Rogue King.” A pause.

“And he knew… you would leave your territory to do it.” Silence. “You walked into this.”

The words weren’t cruel. But they were sharp. Diana’s jaw tightened. A low growl stirred beneath her breath. Because she knew. She had been the one who suggested going to Damon. The one who pushed for answers. And now- They were here.

“Are you done with your strategy meeting?” The voice cut through everything. Smooth. Cold. Amused. Thorne. He hadn’t moved closer. But his presence had. The air shifted again. Heavier. Darker.

Ravenna turned to him instantly.

“Thorne…” Her voice changed. Softened.

“Please.” A step toward him. “Stop this.” Another step. “Come back to the coven.” Her voice trembled-just slightly. “Come back to me.”

Silence. For a moment- The darkness around Thorne wavered. But then- His expression hardened.

“I told you, Ravenna.” His voice was final. Cold. “I will not stop.” A pause. “Not for anyone.” His gaze held hers- “Not even you.”

Diana saw it then. The pain. Hidden. But real. And then- It was gone. Thorne lifted his hand. The world reacted. The air thickened instantly- Like poison flooding through invisible veins. Dianá felt it first. Her lungs tightened. Her instincts screamed.

“RUN!” Ravenna’s voice broke through everything. Sharp. Urgent.

“DO NOT BREATHE!” Her eyes flashed toward them. “He’s poisoning the air!”

Everything exploded into motion. Diana didn’t hesitate. She shifted. Artemis surged forward in a flash of silver- muscles coiling, senses sharpening. Beside her- Fenrir burst free. Massive. Terrifying. They ran. No hesitation. No looking back. Behind them-

the forest twisted. The air pulsed. Magic chased them.

“Keep running!” Ravenna shouted. Her voice already fading behind them. “Do not stop until you reach the Rogue Kingdom!”

Diana glanced back once- just once- Ravenna had stopped. And then-She ran. But not with them. In The opposite direction.

Talon’s voice cut through the bond. Why would she run the other way?

Diana didn’t answer. Because Artemis already had.

She took our scent. Diana’s eyes widened slightly.

“She’s drawing them away,” Diana relayed quickly. “She’s making them think she’s us.”

Talon’s chest tightened. “She’s sacrificing herself-”

No. Artemis corrected sharply. She’s buying us time.

They ran faster. The forest blurred around them. But the air- The air changed again.

Talon felt it. “They’re still following us.”

Diana nodded internally. He’s not letting go.

Artemis’s voice sharpened. He controls the air. A pause. He may control more than that.

And then- The ground moved. A sharp spike of earth shot upward-fast-violent-It sliced across Artemis’s side. Blood sprayed.

“ARTEMIS!” Fenrir’s roar tore through the bond. But Artemis didn’t slow. Didn’t falter.

I’m fine. Her voice was strained- but steady. Keep running.

Diana pushed through the pain. Forced her body forward.

“We’re close,” she said. The scent-It was there. Rogue territory. But the pressure behind them- It grew.

“He’s still coming,” Talon growled.

Artemis’s voice cut in again. Urgent.

Tell Talon to mindlink Willow.

Diana relayed instantly.

“Talon-contact Willow.” A beat. “We’re too close to risk being mistaken as threats.”

Talon didn’t hesitate. His mind reached out-far- through distance- through bond-through instinct.

“Willow.” His voice carried through the link. Strong. Urgent.

“Willow-”

Behind them- The forest erupted. Thorne’s presence surged again. Closer. Faster. And this time- He wasn’t holding back. And neither could they.
