"I agree," another chimes in. "It may take longer, but it drastically minimizes the immediate danger."

Aside from a few bold doctors willing to take a gamble, the overwhelming majority advise against surgery.

Gregory stands with a rigid posture and a dark, tense expression. "Will conservative treatment cause her condition to deteriorate? Will she never wake up?"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Sinclair, but we cannot predict when she will wake up," the head doctor replies cautiously. "However, her vitals are currently quite stable. There doesn't seem to be any downward trend. In fact, we are wondering if she was given some sort of medication before being brought in. Whatever it was, it successfully prevented her condition from worsening. I suggest we monitor her for now. If she starts to decline, we can reconsider surgery or other options."

At the mention of prior medication, both Julianna and Bonnie immediately think of Tara. Right after their grandmother collapsed, Tara had indeed forced a pill into her mouth.

Initially, Bonnie wanted to accuse Tara, claiming that very pill was the reason her grandmother was in such critical condition. But after the doctors essentially credits the pill for saving her life, Bonnie bites her tongue. She is not about to hand that woman any credit.

"Alright," Gregory sighs heavily. "We will proceed with that for now." Since the top experts are in agreement, he has no choice but to follow their advice.

It infuriates her that Gregory, who lives right here, never carves out time for their mother. It is completely unacceptable.
