Chapter 457

The car rode into Godlike Pack territory and stopped before the Alpha’s building. The chauffeur stepped out to open the door, but I didn’t move for a long moment.

There were many reasons. One of them was the wind. It reminded me of her. It told me she wasn’t far.

Snowflakes.

It had been only a few hours, no, days, but I already missed her. I exhaled, lifting my gaze to the towering structure before finally stepping out, straightening myself, and facing what awaited me.

I walked into the hall and headed toward my father’s chambers. At his door, I paused for a few seconds before turning the handle and stepping in, only to realize he wasn’t there. I close the door and turned toward his study, walking in quietly.

He sat behind the desk. Normally he would be writing, signing documents, or handling pack affairs, but this time he wasn’t doing anything. Just sitting there, hands resting on the desk, eyes fixed ahead.

I bowed. When I straightened, his gaze was already on me. Silence settled between us, deep, heavy, before he nodded toward the chair across from him.

“Bring the wine and two cups,” he said, and I obeyed. At the corner stood a small counter lined with expensive bottles.

I took one, reached for two glass cups, and carried them to his desk. I moved the papers aside neatly so nothing would spill on them accidentally or otherwise, then sat down quietly.

He sighed, reaching for the wine to uncork it, but I leaned forward to help.

“It’s fine. Let me,” he said, finishing the uncorking and pouring the wine into both glasses. “Drink.”

I stared at the liquid. Dark red. Crimson. It made me think of the guard I had shot last night, his head bursting in front of me.

I lifted the glass, took a sip, and set it down just as my father began.

“You arrived in your own jet.” I nodded.

“The Godlike jet landed with mine.”

He went quiet again, studying me. Then he asked,

“Why not fly back in the Godlike jet?”

A question with an answer he already knew. Still, I replied.

“Because I’m returning with my mother. I don’t want to do anything you haven’t approved.”

“But you would bring her home even if I say no, right?” His stare sharpened, tension folding into the air.

She is your precious mother who would rather die than not know what happened to her son eighteen years ago.”

His words burrowed into my veins, but I lowered my gaze, pretending not to hear.

‘Eva told me about Feroz,” I said quietly. “And I need to inform you about something, Father. Instead of rying to partner with Feroz to get part of his drugs and pay him cash… how about we take all the drugs ind’empty his entire warehouses?”

He looked at me again, a line forming on his brow.

‘And your reason?”

‘Marlik.” At that, his gaze sharpened, urging me to continue. “He’s in prison. I found out from Mom. Feroz out him there. I won’t do business with anyone who hurts my Rogue family. And honestly, taking over his drug empire entirely is smarter and far more profitable than partnering with him.”

My father slowly lifted his drink, took a sip, then leaned back and traced a finger across his lips with a sly smile.

‘You’re insane,” he said almost fondly. “Do you think you can take those drugs without paying a single penny?”

I held his stare, meaning every word. Feroz was someone I had already etched into my book of pain, not death. Death was merciful.

“Yes. You have my word.”

‘But…” he paused, frowning. “You also want that best friend of yours freed from prison?”

I sighed. I knew this part wouldn’t be easy for him.

“Yes.”

“What charge is he serving?”

I swallowed.

“Murder.”

Tension clenched the air. He stared at me like I had lost my mind.

“No.”

“Father…”

“Godlike’s name would sink with it. We cannot associate with anyone who has a prison record. That is how we have kept our name clean since the beginning. You expect me to let my son go around freeing a murderer?”

“Marlik isn’t a murderer. And freeing him won’t be done illegally.” I exhaled, steadying myself. “He was

thed. And I’ll clear his name. Legally. All I want… is your approval.”

He stared at me, truly stared, thinking it over. Finally, he sighed, unable to help himself.

“On the condition that you are not seen with him. Your name must never appear in any court, trial, or legal process until he is spotless as you promised. Can you do that?”

I nodded immediately.

“Yes, sir.”

“Godlike’s name must not be mentioned.”
