I put the phone aside and returned to my emails, managing to finish another response before the Vantage review waiting for me on Monday brought Tuesday’s meeting back to mind.
And with it, Isla Smith.
Reading her analysis had given me plenty of information about the way she worked and absolutely nothing useful about the woman herself. If anything, it had only given me another reason to want her across that table on Tuesday, where I could decide whether the strange familiarity from yesterday survived a second
encounter.
My phone vibrated again before I could take that thought any further.
LUNA: Don’t make me regret saving you a hello.
I read the message twice.
ME: You seem very confident I’ll be there.
Nearly a minute passed before her answer appeared.
LUNA: You kept your promise last time.
Something about that pleased me more than it should have.
ME: Maybe I have plans.
LUNA: At 10:30 on a Friday night?
ME: Some of us have lives.
LUNA: My condolences to whoever has to experience yours.
A laugh escaped before I could stop it, drawing my driver’s eyes briefly to the rearview mirror.
ME: Careful.
LUNA: Is that a threat?
ME: Depends. Are you worried?
Her answer took several seconds.
LUNA: Should I be?
There were several ways I could have answered that, most of which had no business being directed at a woman whose face I’d never completely seen.
ME: Probably.
She went quiet after that.

I gave the conversation more attention than I cared to admit before another notification finally appeared.
JAXON: Sunday is going to be fucking historic.
Wrong person.
I closed the message without answering and left the phone alone for the remainder of the drive.
Luna still hadn’t responded when I reached my building shortly before seven. Probably for the best. Tonight’s conversation had already gone considerably further than our usual exchanges, and checking every notification for her name was becoming a habit I had no intention of encouraging.
I changed upstairs and spent the next hour in the gym, pushing hard enough that by the time I finished, the burn through my muscles had driven most of everything else from my head. After showering and eating, I opened my laptop and worked through what remained from the office.
Sometime later, the clock in the corner of the screen caught my attention.
10:17.
I knew immediately how long remained until her stream.
That was irritating enough to send my attention firmly back to the email, although the same paragraph was still in front of me when I checked again several minutes later.
By 10:27, pretending I was accomplishing anything had become pointless. I closed the laptop and leaned back.
“This is fucking ridiculous.”
The apartment remained silent around me.
I made it another two minutes before picking up my phone, deciding that arriving one minute early hardly qualified as waiting for her.
The fact that I needed that justification was worse.
Her stream went live while I was opening the app, bringing that familiar half-hidden face onto my screen for the first time in four days.
Something about seeing her again landed differently tonight.
I settled deeper into the sofa as the clock turned to 10:30.
Right on time.
The stream loaded with Luna sitting on the edge of her bed, her face concealed by the same black half-mask that left only those vivid blue eyes visible while hiding her mouth, jaw and everything below them.
The rest of her was barely covered.
A sheer black robe hung open around a thin lace bralette that barely contained her heavy breasts and

One side had already slipped from her shoulder, and dark hair spilled down her back as she leaned toward the camera.
“Hi, Daddy North.”
My name was the first thing out of her mouth, making it clear she’d noticed my arrival among everyone else flooding the chat.
Luna sat back and let the robe slide completely from her arms before cupping her breasts through the lace. Her thumbs moved slowly over nipples already tight enough to show through the fabric, drawing a soft sound from her throat.
“You made it.”
There was something almost smug in the way she said it, as though my arrival had settled an argument only she had been having.
Her fingers pinched both nipples through the lace before tugging the bralette down and freeing her breasts. She lifted one toward her mouth and dragged her tongue across the nipple while watching the screen.
My grip tightened around the phone as I watched.
She ran her tongue over it again, slower this time, before sucking the peak into her mouth until her eyelids fluttered. She released it with a wet sound.
“Fuck,” she whispered.
Keeping one hand around her breast, she trailed the other down her stomach and beneath her panties. Her thighs spread farther as her fingers worked beneath the lace in slow circles until dampness darkened the fabric.
Rather than removing the panties, Luna pulled them aside and exposed herself to the camera. Two fingers glided through her folds before spreading them open.
Then she lifted those fingers toward the mask and dragged them across the fabric beneath her hidden mouth as though tasting herself.
My cock was already hard enough to hurt, and the soft laugh that came through the speakers told me she knew exactly what she was doing to me.
