Dreaming

The morning light crept through the thin curtains, pale and indifferent, casting a cold glow across the small bedroom. Iva lay curled on her side, her body still aching from the violation of the night before. Her eyes were swollen from crying, her throat raw from screaming, her soul hollowed out by a betrayal so profound that she couldn’t find the words to describe it.

She had not slept.

Every time she closed her eyes, she felt his weight pressing down on her. Every time she drifted toward unconsciousness, she heard his voice, rough and demanding. Every time she tried to escape, the memory of his hands, his breath, his body-it all came flooding back, drowning her in a sea of revulsion and shame.

A soft knock sounded at the door.

“Iva?” Nick’s voice came through, tentative and apologetic. “Iva, can we talk? Please?”

She didn’t respond.

She couldn’t.

The sound of his voice made her stomach churn, made her skin crawl, made her want to disappear into the floorboards and never surface again.

“I know I messed up,” he continued, his voice pleading. “I know I hurt you. And I’m so sorry. I was drunk. I wasn’t thinking. I didn’t mean-”

He paused, waiting for a response,

There was only silence.

“Iva, please. Just give me a chance to explain. To make it right. I love you. You know I love you. I would never-”

“Go away,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.

“Iva-”

“GO AWAY!” she screamed, her voice cracking with the force of her anguish.

Silence.

Then footsteps, retreating down the hall.

The days that followed were a blur of withdrawal and despair.

Iva refused to leave the room. She lay in bed, her body curled into a tight ball, her eyes fixed on the wall She barely moved, barely spoke, barely existed.

Nick tried to reach her. He brought her meals, leaving them outside the door with whispered apologies. He knocked softly, calling out to her, begging for a chance to make things right. But she never answered. She never opened the door.

Dreaming

She forced herself to eat, but only for the pup.

The tiny life growing inside her was the only thing that kept her going. She would stare at her rounded belly, her hand pressed against the swell, and feel the faint flutter of movement. It was the only comfort she had left-the only thing that reminded her that she was still alive, still fighting, still here.

Otherwise, she would have stopped eating altogether.

ied at night, when the house was quiet and she was alone with her thoughts.

Moon Goddess?” she whispered into the darkness, her voice breaking. “Why did you let this happen? ycans used me. They took everything from me. I lost my wolf. I lost my pack. Even my mother-she ayed my father and left” she said sad, recalling Rhys’ story. “And now… my mate did this.”

e choked on a sob, her hand pressed to her belly.

Please guide me. Please show me what to do. I’m so lost. I’m so alone. I don’t know how to go on.”

The silence offered no answers.

She fell asleep crying, her tears soaking into her pillow, her body trembling with the weight of her grief.

The darkness finally released her as she found herself in the dream world.

Iva found herself standing in a meadow bathed in golden light. The grass beneath her feet was soft and green, dotted with wildflowers that swayed gently in a warm breeze. The sky above was a perfect shade of blue, painted with wisps of clouds that seemed to glow from within. Mountains rose in the distance, their peaks capped with snow, and a river sparkled nearby, its waters clear and inviting.

She didn’t know where she was.

She didn’t know how she had gotten there.

But for the first time in what felt like forever, she felt… peace.

She walked through the meadow, her hand brushing against the petals of the flowers. The air was sweet with the scent of honeysuckle and lavender, and the warmth of the sun seemed to seep into her bones, melting away the cold that had taken up permanent residence in her heart.

And, after some time, a figure appeared in the distance.

Iva stopped, her heart quickening.

The figure moved toward her with a fluid grace, her steps light and unhurried. As she drew closer, Iva could see that she was
