Only Chaos
The world had shattered into a thousand jagged pieces.
Caleb knelt at the water’s edge, his hands pressed against the cold earth, his body trembling with the force of the revelation that had just torn through him. The bond pulsed in his chest- faint but unmistakable, the heartbeat of a new life that was connected to his soul.
His pup was alive.
Iva had given birth.
Somewhere out there, in the vast, indifferent world, his child had taken its first breath, and he had not been there. He had not held them. He had not protected them.
The grief and joy collided inside him like opposing forces, tearing him apart from the inside out. His mind, already fractured by months of anguish and rage, could not hold them both. The threads of his sanity, stretched thin and frayed, snapped one by one.
Chaos surged forward.
His Lycan form exploded outward, bones cracking and reforming, fur ripping through skin, muscles swelling with primal power. The last threads of control that Caleb had been clinging to dissolved like smoke in the wind.
For a moment, there was nothing.
No thought. No reason. No mercy.
Only rage.
Chaos’s mind was a maelstrom of primal urges, a flood of images and emotions that consumed all reason.
Joy at the knowledge of the pup.
Grief at its absence.
Fury at the ones who had taken Iva, who had stolen this moment from him, who had forced his mate to give birth alone in some unknown corner of the world.
And beneath it all, a burning, insatiable need for revenge.
Chaos rose to his full height. He threw his head back and roared–a sound of pure, unfiltered agony and fury that echoed across the grounds, rattling the windows of the castle.

The guards at the gates heard it and paled.
The servants in the kitchens dropped their dishes.
The dignitaries in the grand hall fell silent, their faces etched with fear.
And Chaos began to move.

e prisoners in their cells cowered in the shadows, their eyes wide with terror as the massive Lycan stalked through the corridor.
Chaos stopped at the first cell.
The first prisoner inside scrambled backward, his hands raised in futile defense.
“Please,” he begged, his voice trembling. “Please, I didn’t-”
Chaos didn’t let him finish.
His claws tore through the iron bars like paper. His massive hand closed around the prisoner’s throat, lifting him off the ground.
The screams that followed were the stuff of nightmares.
One by one, Chaos moved through the dungeon, his vengeance absolute. Prisoner after prisoner fell to his claws, their pleas for mercy going unheard. He didn’t stop to interrogate. He didn’t stop to gloat.
He simply destroved.

One of the guards broke away, as he mind–linked King William himself.

“Your Majesty,” he gasped, bursting through the door. “You need to come. Now. It’s the Prince -he’s in the dungeon. He’s gone mad. He’s killing everyone.”
The King arrived moments later, his face pale, his eyes wide with shock.
The dungeon was a charnel house.
Bodies lay scattered across the floor, torn apart in ways that defied description. Blood pooled in dark puddles, soaking into the ancient stone. The metallic scent of death was overwhelming, thick enough to choke on.

The King took a slow, deliberate step forward. His hands remained raised, palms open, showing he was unarmed.
“I know you’re in there, Caleb. I know you can hear me. The man I raised–my son–he wouldn’t do this. He wouldn’t give up.”
Chaos’s claws flexed, scraping against the stone floor. The sound was like nails on a coffin.
“Give up?” he repeated his voice dripping with bitter amusement. “I have given up nothing. I
