177 Insurgents
It turned out that the very moment Nikolai and Ophelia left from the cave, dragons struck without warning. It didn’t appear as though they were aware of Nikolai and Ophelia’s movements, but Rhaziel and Sasha took quick care of them. And when the dragon knocked her brother out, that’s when Sasha lost her temper. 1
“Well, this is a sign to leave this mountain.” With a sluggish yawn, Nikolai moved to stand behind Ophelia, who was kneeling next to the still sleeping
Esmeralda.
“This is a bit worrisome.” She mumbled, constantly cocking her head to get a clear view of Esmeralda’s face.
“I believe she overexerted herself without realizing it. She will awaken shortly.” Rhaziel mumbled as his eyes narrowed, staring out the cave. “I have an unrelenting inclination to purge off these creatures from existence.” Nikolai gasped dramatically, covering Ophelia’s ears with his palms. “Do not say something so vulgar.”
Rhaziel made an intense grimace. “Are we going to teleport?”
“Is there a choice?” Nikolai questioned inanely, casting his hands off Ophelia’s ears and into his pocket.
“You are either going to be unconscious for some time or you will
experience a needless insatiable thirst for some time.” reminding, Rhazie! looked across to Pain, who was fast asleep in the cave’s corner. “Even with Pain’s energy.”
“If something like that occurs, I prefer the first one.” Sasha spoke up and Vladmir, who was now awake, nodded in agreement.
“Oh good! you still have magic to fix your clothes.” Nikolai rolled his eyes.

“Why don’t you two channel your magic to move us back to the castle?” Raising his eyebrows, Rhaziel asked Sasha, who was profoundly frowning.
“I do not care if you are the son of the devil, demon! You have no right to command me.” Sasha gave a vicious growl.
“Oh?” Nikolai asked feigning shock, then grabbed Vladmir by the neck, hauling him off the ground and turning his head to face Sasha, who was now staring at him in horror. “But I do,”
“You…!” Sasha lost it and groaned in frustration.^
Rhaziel looked to Ophelia, who was still staring worriedly at Esmeralda, and grinned proudly. Leaning forward, he scooped the dark fairy with his arms. “I’ll hold her.”
Ophelia stood up and smiled appreciatively. “Nikolai,” she growled in a foreboding manner, without turning to face her husband, who had his cousin by the neck.
Nikolai’s eyes flashed menacingly at her tone that caused him to feel a shiver run down his spine. He quickly released Vladmir, who gasped and grabbed his own neck.
“Bastard.” Sasha growled at him, and as his smile grew, she lowered her eyes and let out an angry moan. “We are too different from one another to be able to channel from one another. Nikolai may deplete my life force during the process without realizing it.”
“Hmm. I can’t have you die now, I still need you.” Nikolai snapped his tone as he spoke in a rather relaxed tone. “I guess we will have to deal with an unconscious me or rather, a violent me.”
“All we have to do is hope for an unconscious you.” Rhaziel muttered with complete indifference.
“Isn’t it preferable to depart in another manner? Like a carriage, flying… any

way to keep Nikolai from falling unconscious or becoming violent?” Ophelia had to ask. Evidently, she desired a fully aware and involved husband, not one who was in a daze; she was also determined to avoid a violent spouse, even though he already possessed that quality.
“Darling.” Turning to face her, Nikolai cuddled up to her with a murmur. “The truth is that we are in a hurry.”
“Did something happen?” Sasha questioned with the same air of curiosity that Ophelia had.
“A group of insurgents has been organized, and they are currently advancing inside the castle. The issue is that, up until my return, they have free will.” Nikolai clarified.
Sasha and Ophelia were taken aback.
Vladmir and Rhaziel didn’t even flinch, revealing that they already knew this information.
“If you fall unconscious it’s going to be a different story, Nikolai.” Sasha voiced her displeasure.
“And it will be worse if he becomes bloodthirsty. But it would be great either way if he shows up.” Muttering under his breath, Rhaziel looked out of the cave and saw a dragon advancing from a distance.
Nikolai freed Ophelia and moved away from her as soon as the dragon approached and changed into Lev, who entered the cave.
Pain woke up instantly and gave a yawn.
Taking a deep breath, Ophelia activated flaming shields around herself and everyone else but Nikolai and Pain.
“What? What is happening?” Lev was perplexed. Why were they heading out the moment he returned?

“You have great timing.” Rhaziel gave a dull mutter.
Lev’s expression went blank.
Nikolai closed his eyes, and a black mist suddenly erupted, swallowing them all. They disappeared from the cave and from Mount Sidus altogether, only to reappear at the imperial city, directly in front of the imperial castle. The Novikovs‘ home.
Nikolai remained still, his eyes still closed, and Ophelia removed the blazing shields as soon as the mist disappeared from them.
“Nikolai?” Ophelia approached him and reached for his cloak, but he did not move or respond, frightening her.
Everyone was eager to see what would happen as they all fixed keen
curiosity on him. Would he pass out and awaken with a vicious grin on his face?
But, snarls, howls, and cries could be heard resounding in the distance.
“Revoke Nikolai Novikov!”
“Revoke Nikolai Novikov!”
“Revoke Nikolai Novikov!”
“Revoke Nikolai Novikov!”
“Goddess!” Sasha’s eyes widened. “What is going on?”
As she looked towards the direction of the voices, she noticed a sizable gathering of werewolves. The approximate number of them was three hundred. The majority were in their form, but some were in half of them and yet others were in human form. Pitchers and flaming torches were in their hands, and they all had angry expressions.
“We have to get Nikolai out of here.” Lev lowered his voice and revealed his golden reptile–like eyes.
