Too perfect. Like this was planned.

I step out of the room and Rhea gasps “you look beautiful Luna” she says.

I smile

Automatic. Empty.

“thank you” I say.

We get to the room where David has dinner set up and the room is beautiful.

Too nice for what this actually is.

David is waiting at the table when we arrive.

“thank you my love” I say.

The words taste wrong.

He pulls out my chair and I sit.

I’m nervous sharing this meal because I haven’t eaten anything that wasn’t given to me by Seraphina or Jonathan.

There’s a reason for that.

“so how was your day love?” I ask trying to keep my voice steady.

He grins

That grin again. I don’t trust it.

“it was great, I was able to attack my enemy in the war after they messed up my plans” he says grinning.

That makes my blood run cold.

Who did you hurt?

Who did he attack?. Another pack?.

My mind races with questions as he watches me carefully.

He’s watching for a reaction.

I smile

You get nothing.

“that is good to hear, so the war should be over soon and then I can go outside?” I ask

“yes once the war is over you can go outside” he says.

“are you not hungry?” he asks looking at my plate.

My stomach flips

Here we go.

“not really, I haven’t really had much of an appetite” I say.

He nods

Still watching me.

“well you need to eat something for the pups baby” he says softly.

I pick up the fork and take a small amount of food on the fork and bring it to my mouth!

I chew slowly

Waiting.

“Nova?” I call out to her.

Silence.

Yeah… I knew it.

Of course the food has it in it.

I eat more because I can’t make myself look suspicious.

Just get through it. Don’t stop now.

After eating as much as I could, I set the fork down.

“better” he says smiling.

He stands and walks over to me slowly

Too calm. Too sure.

Even though everything in me is screaming no.

He claps his hands and the door opens and two women in only their underwear walk in.

What is he planning.

That slipped out before I could soften it.

He chuckles darkly.

My stomach twists hard at that.

“but tonight, I will have some fun and I always get what I want mate” he says.

He pulls me out the chair and drags me to a door in the room.

When he opens the door it’s a bedroom.

The air feels different in here. Heavier.

The bed has straps on all four corners and my heart beats hard in my chest.

Too fast. Too loud.

He comes up behind me and unzips my dress and my body freezes.

Completely still. I can’t even force myself to move.

Instantly my mind pulls me back to the night before graduation.

No. Not that. Not now.

I feel the dress pool at my feet.

He grabs my arm and pushes me on the bed and straps my arms and legs.

Too fast. I don’t even get a second.

The tears fall before I can stop them.

I hate that he gets to see that.

“I asked and I’m done, I will wait to fuck you, but my entertainment and I will enjoy playing with you like this” he says eyes

flashing with lust.

“please don’t do this love” I say whimpering

The word love burns coming out.

“Shut up” he growls.

I try to think about Cole in this moment to block out what is about to happen.

His voice. His hands. His scent. Hold onto that. Don’t let this take over.
