The Luna Queen's Rebirth (Ellie and Dominic) novel Chapter 450

Chapter 450

Ellie’s POV

I saw her face for less than a second, and that single glance alone was enough to end me once and for all.

It was her. Goddess, it was her who he’d had beside him in those pictures-it was her, her, of all people, who’d been speculated to be his future Luna. It was fucking her who had marked him.

Why did it always have to be her?

After everything we’d been through… After all the promises he’d made…

How could he just turn around and let her in so easily?

The caravan rolled through the gates in a line of black cars. I didn’t want to come, but it was expected of the entire village, and this visit was very important for the pack, so I didn’t argue. At first, it was fine, and I told myself that even if I saw Dominic with his new mate, the mysterious veiled woman, I could handle it.

But then the middle car slowed down, and the woman in the passenger seat leaned back to grab something off the rear seat, and for one split second, her veil wasn’t covering her face. And in that moment, I got to see who had been hiding behind it all this time.

Vivian.

She yanked the veil back down before the car came to a full stop, quickly covering it. If I’d blinked, I would have missed it entirely. But I saw it. I saw her.

My hand came up of its own accord to press against my chest, pain lancing through the broken threads of the bond, as Dominic’s eyes met mine through the window.

For a moment, just a moment, I saw the guilt written clearly there. As if he knew exactly what he had done.
