The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 217

Anthony.

He was furious at his own unit or what was left of it, because during that dinner not once did they omit anything and it was now out that Mischa had actually left him in full. Then the following day before the mating ball, even the pack chatter from his own wolves was about how they no longer had a Luna. Seems everyone was against him right now.

Then it just got even worse for him, as the Elders had sat around and talked to the allied themselves at times, and Debbie had openly admitted that he’d chosen Christy over Mischa, and so it was only natural that the unwanted Luna would leave.

He nearly yelled at her only to have Allen sigh from next to his Mate and pat her hand, It’s such a shame, but we saw it coming long ago. What a year now, only Anthony never cared to truly apologize and make amends. What Luna would stand for that for very long!

His own greatgrandfather had looked right at him and shaken his head. I would have done everything she asked, to keep my Mate and Luna by my side. Not ignore her repeatedly, or side with one Luna over the other constantlyhe’d stated, My grandson disappoints me greatly. Then he’d looked to the allied Don’t concern yourselves with it, Alpha Nicholas assures us she is fine where she is. Anne, her personal omega, also went with her, and I hear several of this pack’s former members are also where she is.

Enough,Anthony had rapped out, angered by Allen’s words to the allied Alphas and their units.

Allen had nodded, I only speak the truth as our agreement with the allies; to never lie to them, so I will not. Not even omit things to make it look as though… Mischa is what, on vacation. They should all know the ugly truth. That you let your selfish second Mate of just three years, eclipse Mischa, and that you gave her everything that was Mischa’s,

Your first Mate and Luna of 23 years,Allen shook his head. It’s disgusting to abandon one Luna for the other, and over what, Christy crying about she feels she can’t measure up to Mischa. She felt that way because she was uneducated and only mated herself to you to have access to unlimited funds, a gold digger, and you catered to her, only Christy is where right now and why?

In the cells for being a traitor to the pack,Debbie had commented and sipped her wine as if airing his mistakes was nothing at all. You’ve got no Luna anymore, even though you’re still bound to both of them. One left you, and you blamed the other for that. So, you have neither anymore, Will be rejected by both in a matter of what days or weeks.

He was horrified at what they were saying before the allies. None should know things like that. He couldn’t even snarl at them or use Shade to threaten them into stopping because his own beast wouldn’t wake up from its slumber. He’d just been humiliated by his own Elders and there was nothing he could do about it unless he wanted to get his ass handed to him.

That mating ball had seen all the Elders there, along with Kendrick and Dereck, their Mates, but they’d all sat together, and it was suddenly very clear to him where he stood inside this pack, the rest of his unit who’d been in his office just the day before, and he’d nearly told them to leave had chosen to step aside.

He really was on his own right now. It also didn’t go unnoticed by the allies that his unit was sitting with the pack elders. The pack, it really seemed, was actually going to fall apart without Mischa here.

He’d seen the allies off the next day, then packed a bag to leave the pack. He’d headed downstairs, only to Find Ray standing by the front doors Going somewhere?he asked.

Yes, I know where Mischa is, and I’m going to speak with her,Anthony had stated simply enough.

Hmm, do you really think now is the time to leave the pack? The council is coming,” Ray had commented.

That had stopped him from walking. He’d not told the Elders the Wolfen Council was coming, and that email had been addressed directly to him, he’d only told Kendrick and Dereck, which meant they’d passed it on to the Elders themselves. So it was true they really had opted not to stand next to him.

If you’re not here when they arrive, and neither of your Lunas are standing here to greet them, what do you think they will do?Ray asked him as if he was saying Anthony didn’t know the consequences, which he did.

I’ll be back before they arrive. I will be home on or before the 30th Anthony muttered, and walked around

him.

If you’re not, they’ll seat another Alpha and deem you unworthy. Just to let you know what will happen. None of us will fight them, tell them why you’re not here, going to be rejected by your Luna of 23 years that left you, and you didn’t even notice she had, because you no longer love her.

I do love her and I’m

You do not,” Ray snarled at him. If you did, you’d never have treated her as you have. You like that she’s useful to you. Does all the hard work and is the glue that keeps this pack together, nothing more. I would advise you to accept the rejection, or you could well find yourself, being forced to. I would also advise you return on time, or you’ll have no pack to return to.

Anthony glared at him, he really did hate it when everyone told him he didn’t love her, hated that they so blatantly pointed out all his flaws and sided with Mischa time and time again. Why didn’t you all just appoint her the Alpha of the pack then?he bit out/angrily.

“She didn’t want that,Ray snorted. Don’t think we didn’t try. The moment you opted to keep a traitorous Mate at your side, that was the moment you were unworthy of not only Mischa but this pack. So, of course, we offered it to her, she simply declined it in full. Made other plans.

Heed this warning, Anthony if you try to drag her back here, and try to keep her at your side using the will of the goddess, I think you’ll find you’ll lose that battle. Our goddess has her own plans for Mish, I now see. I hear she’s pregnant with another Alpha’s pup. He’ll kill you if you try and take her. So don’t be completely stupid and think you can cling to the mate bond anymore. You lost her of your own accord, it’s time to let go of her.

He said nothing, just watched as Ray walked away from him. He’d turned and stalked off to his car. Once his unit would all go with him but not anymore, they’d left their posts, and he wondered if they’d still be in the pack when he got back. His life was a giant mess and even as he drove the long miles away heading for where Mischa was.

He couldn’t switch his mind off. That conversation with Ray, the way the Elders talked to the allied, the way his unit was with them now and not him. What if the Elders decided to take over while he was gone? Popped into his brain. It nearly made him turn around and go back to the pack several times.

But he also had to go and speak with Mischa, he needed to talk to her, they couldn’t leave things as they

were, and he didn’t want to be hit with pains of betrayal again, and he had a feeling it was coming. If not by That Alpha wanting to touch Mischa’s belly, then the next time she went into heat, it was likely Mischa would allow him to mate her through it once more.

He didn’t want that rejection he knew was coming and the Elders of his pack, he now knew, expected him to accept as well. A rejection between them would likely break the pack in full. He wondered if she’d just leave it there in place for now, to help him try and maintain the packs standing.

He knew it was selfish of him to think that way, to even want to ask her not to reject him, to tell her she could live how she liked as long as she stayed bonded to him, but it was all he could think of to do right now. He didn’t really have any options open to him that he could see. He scrubbed a hand over his face and knew she was never going to say yes.

She’d left him and wanted to be free of him, likely free of him to be with another Alpha. He hated that knowledge
