The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 375

They had agreed to have a barbecue in the estate courtyard tonight.

From five in the afternoon until seven in the evening, Nora was still on the phone.

The charcoal had already burned out once.

She always managed to pick meal times to have these marathon phone calls.

She never learned.

She claimed Cassidy was too busy with work during the day to chat.

Who cared about that?

In the past, whenever they had free time, they would meet up for coffee and gossip.

Now that they couldn't meet in person, they squeezed every ounce of free time into virtual catch-ups.

What could they possibly talk about for so long?

Did they really have that many topics?

Even Nora and Maloney didn't talk this much on a daily basis.

The more Maloney thought about it, the more annoyed he became.

At seven-thirty, Nora finally emerged from the bedroom.

Wearing a pair of fuzzy slippers, she jogged over to the sofa and threw herself into Maloney's arms. "Maloney!"

With her soft, fragrant warmth in his embrace, the irritation in Maloney's chest instantly dissipated. He gently rubbed her waist and asked in a low voice, "What is it?"

Nora looked up at him, the overhead lights reflecting in her eyes like shattered galaxies. "Can we go back to the Capital next month?"

"Sure," Maloney agreed without hesitation. He then asked, "Is there a special event?"

Nora answered excitedly, "I want to go to Seraphina's wedding!"

"I thought you weren't close to her?"

"I'm not."

"Then why do you want to attend her wedding?"

"I want to see what her future husband looks like."

Maloney stared at her.

Maloney had received the news about Seraphina's wedding last week.

The groom's family held a very prestigious position in the military.
