The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 34

The words were unimaginably vile.

Cassidy stared at Parker in absolute disbelief.

Felix snapped. He lunged forward and threw a full-force punch straight into Parker's face.

Parker already despised Felix and wasn't about to back down. He retaliated instantly, and the two men were suddenly brawling, slamming into the car.

The violent rocking managed to wake Nora, who was asleep in the backseat.

Nora groggily opened her eyes. Through the blurred window, she saw her newly-adopted friend getting into a fistfight. A jolt of adrenaline erased half her buzz.

She scrambled up, but the tight space made her clumsy, and she smacked her head hard against the roof.

Groaning, she fumbled for the door handle. The moment her feet hit the pavement, a wave of dizziness hit her. She stumbled, falling forward uncontrollably.

With a loud thud, Nora's forehead crashed into the SUV parked next to them.

"Ow!" Nora clutched her head, mumbling in a panic, "Sorry, sorry."

The commotion she made was loud enough that the three people brawling out front froze and looked over.

"Nora!" Cassidy jogged over, cupping Nora's face and gently blowing on her red forehead. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Nora grabbed Cassidy's arm. "What about you? And Felix? Are you guys okay?"

"I'm fine, Nora!" Felix walked over to them, trying to flash a reassuring smile. But the movement tugged at his busted lip, turning the smile into a pained grimace.

"Your face..."

Felix was an influencer who relied on his flawless looks. Taking a hit to the face was disastrous.

Nora said quickly, "I'll take you to the hospital."

Her expression grew even colder. "I told you to get out!"

Parker didn't move. Instead, he marched right up to Nora and demanded, "Were all three of you together just now?"

Taken aback, Nora nodded. "Yeah."

"Parker!" Cassidy's face changed. She shoved him hard. "If you have a problem, take it up with me. Don't pollute Nora's ears with your sick accusations!"

Parker frowned, trying to explain. "I wasn't..."

"Shut up!" Cassidy cut him off, breathing heavily to keep her emotions in check. She pointed at Felix. "Let me tell you exactly who he is. His name is Felix Hart. He is the youngest son of the Hart family, my aunt's nephew, and my cousin!"

"We were out for a party, and I'm driving them home. If you still think the three of us hanging out is an affair, you can wait until I get home to disgust me with it!"

"I've said everything I need to say. Can you get the hell out now?!"
