Cassidy crooked a finger at her, lowering her voice. "Do you remember when he was giving you a hard time? I told you I'd handle it."

Nora sighed. "Stop worrying about me."

"No, I need to worry." Cassidy's eyes narrowed slightly. Her tone remained calm, but her gaze grew sharp.

"I set a trap for him. Doesn't Parker love chasing after Seraphina? Doesn't Seraphina love using men to secure business deals? I specifically assigned Division Two a project that would benefit the Sinclairs. I made sure they hyped it up in the group chats, tagged everyone, and basically shoved it right in Parker's face."

"I wanted him to practically hand the project over to Seraphina. I wanted him to cause a massive loss for the firm, and then I was going to force him to grovel and apologize to us."

"But halfway through the plan, his mother found out."

This was the first Nora had heard of any of this.

She quickly said, "You really don't need to do this for me. Parker was only targeting me to defend Seraphina. It had nothing to do with you, so don't take the blame for it."

Cassidy shook her head. "No. If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have had to listen to his filthy insults."

Nora suddenly realized that Cassidy placed an incredible amount of weight on loyalty.
