The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 289

Talk about melting into someone's arms.

Maloney scooped Nora up and carried her away.

Seraphina watched the two of them get into the car and drive off.

The look on her face grew even more bitter and resentful.

Turning around, Seraphina realized Cassidy was still staring at her.

She rolled her eyes and stormed off.

Cassidy simply shrugged, entirely unbothered.

Jasmine walked over and asked, "Are we still getting late-night food?"

"Eat? Of course we're eating. I rarely get out of the house; I am definitely eating."

The three of them headed back to the city center, found a late-night diner, and ordered a hearty bowl of soup and a massive platter of BBQ ribs.

"Do you think Mr. Jameson and Nora are going to have a massive fight when they get home?"

"I don't know about fighting, but they're definitely going home to sleep together."

Jasmine was speechless.

Cassidy really had no filter!

But for once, Cassidy's prediction was entirely wrong.

Nora and Maloney didn't go home.

Maloney drove Nora straight to the corporate headquarters.

It was ten-thirty at night.

The receptionists had long since gone home. The grand lobby was completely empty, save for the twenty-four-hour security guards who nodded respectfully as they passed.

The elevator took them directly to the top floor.

A secretary was still pulling a late shift in the executive suite. Seeing Maloney walk in with Nora, he masked his brief surprise with a polite smile. "Mrs. Jameson, the corporate kitchen has some exclusive late-night meals prepped on the third floor. Would you like to try something? You can't get this outside."

Nora smiled softly and was just about to reply when Maloney coldly cut her off.

"Go compile all the files for the Westport project and bring them to my office immediately."

The secretary's smile froze, his face instantly dropping. "Right away, Mr. Jameson."

"And pull every document related to The Meridian Initiative from two years ago. If you can't find them, call Mr. Hudson."

"...Yes, sir."

The poor employee's appetite completely vanished.
