Cassidy Quinn nearly choked on her buckwheat tea.

She coughed, eyes wide. "Wait—Bella, Vivian Cole, and Lucius Vane? Are you telling me the three of them are one big happy family?"

"A literal family."

"Like... biologically related?"

Nora waved her hands frantically. "No, no."

She explained, "Vivian has pampered Bella since she was a little girl, to the point where she wanted to hand the entire Dodge family fortune over to her. Years ago, Diana suspected Bella might actually be Vivian's biological daughter. Worried about a future inheritance war, Diana secretly ran a DNA test on them."

"The results showed they were related, but not as mother and daughter. They really are just aunt and niece."

"Anyway, that's not the main point." Nora flipped the printed report to a page with a photograph.

It showed two middle-aged men shaking hands.

Cassidy immediately recognized one of them as a younger Lucius Vane.

"Seraphina thinks the Westport project is almost certainly a massive scam to raise capital. Once they secure the investment funds, they plan to flee the country. After that, the money will be impossible to trace."

Cassidy fell silent for a moment before asking, "So, Bella and Vivian are planning to flee the country too?"

"Yeah." Nora nodded. "They have zero chance of making a comeback here."

Maloney would never allow them to bounce back.
