"Go ahead then." Her words said one thing, but her leg stayed exactly where it was.
Nora stared at Maloney with hazy, captivating eyes.
Her gaze deliberately trailed down his abs.
Having just gotten out of the pool, Nora was wrapped up in a blanket, but Maloney hadn't had a chance to put anything on yet.
Approaching thirty, and the man's physique was still flawless.
But then again, he put in the work.
They had a full home gym setup.
And he was a regular at his corporate gym.
Mr. Hudson had even sent Nora photos of her boss secretly pumping iron.
Very quickly.
Nora managed to make herself blush just from looking.
She pulled her leg back and buried her head into the blanket.
It was both frustrating and hilarious.
Maloney let out a low chuckle, went to pour the water, and when he returned to the living room, he dug her out of her blanket cocoon.
"Drink."
Nora held the glass with both hands, her eyes involuntarily darting downward again. "Go put some pants on."
"I still need it."
"..."
By the time they returned home from the resort, two days had passed.
Nora had two main tasks on her plate.
One was digging into Lucius Vane, and the other was figuring out how to make it up to Maloney.
She was torn between staging her own proposal or initiating something spicier.
She had a feeling he'd prefer the latter.
But the former held more sentimental value as an apology.
The problem was, she didn't have a solid, emotionally resonant plan for it yet.
In the midst of her busy schedule, Cassidy organized a dinner.
Inside the private room of an exclusive lounge.
