The Coldest Man in the Room Melted Only for Me novel Chapter 88

Seraphina looked at Pierce, devastated. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes. She looked incredibly wronged, but still obediently nodded. "Okay."

Pierce turned to walk toward the door.

Seraphina grabbed his sleeve. "Can't you just stay with me a little longer?"

Pierce frowned. "Don't push your luck."

She immediately let go.

Pierce walked away without a single backward glance.

Hidden on the stairs, Riley stared at her phone, utterly disappointed.

That was it?

No hug? No kiss? No intimacy at all? This proved absolutely nothing.

But there was no time to dwell on it now.

She had to beat Pierce back to her room.

Riley scrambled out of the stairwell and made it back to her bed just before he did. She let out a massive sigh of relief and casually went back to her food.

About ten minutes later, Pierce finally returned.

He carried the faint scent of cigarette smoke.

He had probably been worried he smelled like Seraphina's perfume and smoked a cigarette to cover it up.

The man was terrifyingly meticulous.

That night, Pierce never left the room. Riley noticed Seraphina called him twice, but he ignored both calls.

It left Riley furious all night.

He was already cheating on her. Why was he suddenly playing the devoted husband now?

The next morning, while Riley was eating breakfast, Pierce's phone buzzed with a message alert.

She caught a quick glimpse out of the corner of her eye. It was a WeChat message, but she couldn't see who sent it or what the picture was before it disappeared.
