Riley had indeed been suffering in silence, but she had been kept entirely in the dark. Besides, Quinn Logan was always so busy, and Riley couldn't bear to bother her or make her worry.
Riley pressed her lips together and looked at Quinn, staying silent.
"Are you out of your mind? Taking everything on yourself—what am I to you? Do you even consider me a friend?" Quinn demanded loudly, tears streaming down her face.
Riley hurriedly wiped away her tears. "I'm sorry, I was wrong. Please don't cry."
"Get away." Quinn pushed Riley's hand aside and quickly turned her head to wipe her own eyes. "I'm not crying. I just got something in my eye."
"Right, you're not crying."
Quinn kept a straight face, glaring at Riley as if she were furious. After a few seconds of staring, she pulled her into a tight hug, her voice choking up. "You idiot."
A heartbreakingly foolish idiot!
Riley gently patted Quinn's back, offering silent comfort.
A moment later, Quinn calmed down and pulled away with a slightly embarrassed look.
She was supposed to be the one comforting Riley.
"What are you going to do?"
Riley voiced the decision she had made on her way over. "I want a divorce."
Quinn nodded. "You absolutely should divorce a jerk like him. But he's not just any ordinary guy. He's the CEO of Landon Enterprises. He has money and power. If he doesn't want to let you go, this divorce won't be easy."
Riley didn't see it that way. "Why wouldn't he want a divorce? He loves Seraphina. I'm stepping aside so they won't have to sneak around anymore. He should be thrilled."
