"Is Pierce in?"
"Mr. Landon just stepped out."
Riley furrowed her brows. Her timing couldn't have been worse. But since she was already here, she needed to see him and clear the air. "I'll wait for him in his office."
"Ma'am..." Scott hesitated, clearly struggling for words.
Riley paused her steps and turned back. "What is it?"
"It’s hard to say when he'll be back. How about you head home for now, and the moment he returns, I'll let him know you stopped by?"
Riley fell silent for a moment. "Where did he go?"
"...I'm not sure."
Riley narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously. "You handle his entire itinerary, and now you're telling me you don't know where he went? Scott, what are you trying to hide?"
A cold sweat practically broke out on Scott's forehead, but he desperately tried to maintain his composure. "Ma'am, I only manage his professional affairs. Mr. Landon stepped out for personal business today. I genuinely have no idea where he is."
"My apologies, I misunderstood you. I'll get going then."
"Take care, Ma'am."
Riley turned and headed toward the elevators, but after a few steps, she pivoted and walked down a side corridor instead.
Scott hurriedly asked, "Aren't you heading home?"
"I need to use the restroom first."
Scott offered an awkward, tight-lipped smile. "I'll get back to work then."
Riley gave a slight nod.
Once Scott was gone, Riley stepped into the restroom. After washing her hands, she bumped into a receptionist from the executive floor.
"Mrs. Landon, it's so nice to see you."
Riley responded with a polite, radiant smile and turned off the faucet.
"Are you heading over to The Sovereign Club to meet the boss?"
Riley's hands froze. Pierce had gone to The Sovereign Club?
