Riley answered the phone, her voice urgent. "A video call. Why won't you answer the video call?"

"Are you hiding something from me?"

"I'm not."

To Riley, his silence was a clear admission. He really was at the hospital.

Tears streamed down her face in her panic, her voice choked and helpless. "What exactly happened? Why are you at the hospital? Don't hide it from me. I'm scared."

"How did you know I was at the hospital?"

Riley wiped her tears as she spoke, "I saw it on the entertainment news. There's a scandal about an influencer, and you're in the background of one of the photos. What's going on? If you don't tell me, I'm booking a flight to Ashford right now."

"No! You're heavily pregnant. If something happens to you on the way, it'll kill me."

"Then tell me what's going on! Why are you at the hospital?"

He let out a soft sigh. "I'm fine. A client drank too much, and I brought him to get his stomach pumped."

"Really?"

"Really."

"I don't believe you. Answer the video call."

"Riley..."

"If you don't answer, it means you're lying to me."

"Fine. Wait a minute, I'm getting into the elevator now. Once I'm out, I'll call you back."
