Pierce nodded and helped Arthur down the stairs.

Back in her room, Riley assessed the layout. There was only one bed, but a comfortable sofa sat by the window. She could sleep on the sofa tonight.

While unpacking, she checked the wardrobe but didn't find any spare blankets.

The estate was nestled deep in the mountains, meaning the temperature would plummet at night. Even though it was early summer, sleeping without a cover would guarantee a cold.

Just as she was thinking about it, the landline on the bedside table rang.

Riley picked it up. "Hello."

"Good morning, Mrs. Landon. Lady Eleanor has arranged for lunch to be served in the main house. A golf cart will arrive at your villa in ten minutes to pick you up. Please be ready."

"Understood. When the driver comes, could you ask him to bring an extra blanket?"
