“Your trust is pathetic!” Emma sneered, gripping the podium. “Matthew won’t tell you everything because he’s not the good guy you think.

He’s hurt you more than anyone!”

I squeezed the clicker in my hand. What was she talking about?

“Shut up!” Olivia shouted. “You’re just lashing out because you’re cornered!”

“Your brother cares about Aria?” Emma mocked. “You don’t know his real heart, Olivia.”

Emma turned to Matthew, her voice dropping dangerously. “Save me now, Matthew. Or we’re both going down.

My stomach dropped. What secret could she possibly have?

Emma glanced at Blake, then stared at Matthew, clearly hoping he’d step in.

“Are you threatening to reveal that I hypnotized Aria too?” Matthew asked suddenly.

The entire hall gasped. Board members shot to their feet. My blood turned to ice. Matthew had hypnotized me? When? Why?

Blake lunged forward, jumping onto the stage and grabbing Matthew’s collar. “What did you just say?”

“Blake, Matthew’s lying!” Emma frantically cut in. “He’s making it up!”

“Let’s stop this right now, Emma backpedaled. “I take it back.”

‘Too late, Matthew said firmly. “Once this started, there was no stopping it.”

He continued despite Blake’s grip. “It happened at the medical center after the Manhattan fire. Aria and Blake were trapped together. Aria

saved Blake’s life.”

My head spun. Manhattan fire? I’d never been there… had I?

“Blake, Matthew said gravely, “you’ve been wrong from the start. You should’ve been grateful to Aria, not Emma!”

Kevin froze. Olivia gasped. Richard staggered. Elaine stumbled against the screen.

Blake’s face twisted in pain, veins bulging as he gripped Matthew.

I rushed forward. “What are you talking about? I saved Blake? I wasn’t even there!”

Matthew looked at me with tears in his eyes. “Your memories were changed, Aria. You think you got invited to a dance competition in

Manhattan but never went because you hurt your spine at home. That’s not what happened.”

“What?” I could barely speak.

“You did go to Manhattan. You stayed in the same hotel as Blake. When the fire broke out, you both got trapped.”

I couldn’t breathe.

“When I heard you’d been rescued, I was so relieved,” Matthew continued. “Despite our fight after my father’s accident, I snuck to the

hospital.”

His face darkened. “That’s when I heard Emma and Christine plotting to kill you. You were unconscious, badly hurt. Emma was jealous

you’d saved Blake. She wanted to kill you and take credit herself.”

Complete silence. I gripped the podium, feeling dizzy.

‘I stopped Emma from removing your oxygen, Matthew said. “She told me you and Blake had bonded while trapped. Blake kept calling your name. She said when you both woke up, you’d probably end up together.”

Matthew’s voice cracked. “And I… even though I hated you then… couldn’t stand the thought of you with someone else. So I did the worst

thing possible.”

Tears ran down his face. “I was selfish. I hypnotized you to forget Blake, ruining both your lives for over ten years.”

The lights felt too bright. My world was crashing down.

“Because you forgot, you never looked for Blake, Matthew explained. “Blake never knew who really saved him. Emma stole your identity, became his ‘savior. Blake stayed with her out of gratitude, giving her a luxury life for over a decade.”

My knees went weak as he continued. “Emma faked having your spinal injury. She claimed your dream of being a dancer. She staged her

own kidnapping to make Blake choose between saving her or you.”

Matthew’s voice grew stronger. “The spinal injury was Aria’s. The dance dreams were Aria’s. The trauma from the Manhattan fire was

Aria’s.

‘Emma was rescued right away by Christine, Matthew continued. ‘She only accepted Dr. Smith’s treatment because she wasn’t really hurt. She killed Dr. Smith to protect her secret. There’s no medical miracle that lets someone with severe spinal damage become a principal

dancer.

Dead silence. Olivia looked like she couldn’t breathe. Whispers started among the executives and reporters.

‘If I were Aria, I’d be furious!” someone whispered. “If I were Blake, I’d be even more furious!”

I stood frozen center stage, unable to process what I’d just heard. My entire life had been a lie. Blake’s hand dropped from Matthew’s
