Chapter 276

Emma’s triumphant expression froze. “You two old fools have lost your minds!”
The presentation hall fell silent. Executives, board members, and reporters stared in shock. God, seeing her finally lose control felt better
than I’d imagined.
Emma caught herself, forcing a sweet smile. “I mean… Mom, Dad, what are you saying? I’m your daughter. You signed this agreement
willingly.”
“Drop the act, Richard said coldly. “It won’t work anymore.”
“This makes zero sense,” Emma insisted, pacing across the stage. “The transfer agreement has signatures and notarization! You can’t just
decide it’s invalid!”
“Who’s really lost their mind?” Richard laughed. “You, playing your manipulative games?”
“What are you talking about?” Emma backed away from the podium.
“The transfer agreement was signed while we were under hypnosis,” Richard announced through the microphone. “You’ve been controlling us with hypnotic suggestion for years!”
Gasps filled the hall. Camera flashes erupted around us. My heart hammered against my ribs as everything clicked into place.
‘Your scheme ends today,” Richard declared. “Your good days are officially over!”
Emma’s face went chalk-white. She turned to Elaine. “Mom, you don’t believe this crap, right? I’ve always been your good daughter.”
Elaine’s normally gentle expression hardened. “You orchestrated Aaron’s death. You manipulated us into hurting Aria. I’ve always been
forgiving, but not when my daughter gets hurt.”
Security personnel rushed in, surrounding the stage where Emma stood. The crowd erupted in confused murmurs. ‘Hypnosis’ and ‘mind
control bounced between executives and frantically typing reporters.
Alex stood up from the front row, his expression intense and unreadable.
I approached my parents, climbing the stage steps on wobbly legs. I wrapped my arms around them both, feeling them tremble as cameras
flashed around us.
“We’re so sorry, Aria,” my father choked out. “We weren’t ourselves… we couldn’t…”

“I get it now,” I whispered, feeling a weight lifting.

Emma stood frozen, her eyes darting wildly before landing on Matthew.
‘Matthew, what the hell is happening?’ she demanded into a nearby microphone. ‘Did your hypnotic suggestion fail? You promised they’d
stay under my control!”
The room went dead silent. All eyes turned to Matthew as he stood from his seat.
“You’re in this mess because you deserve it,” Matthew said evenly. “I deliberately freed Richard and Elaine from your control.”
Emma’s face twisted with rage. “You betrayed me? You removed their conditioning without telling me?”
“He was never on your side,” I said, stepping toward the center microphone. “Matthew and Lily aren’t the same.”
Emma whirled toward me. “You knew? You set me up?”
“Only found out last night,” I admitted. “Matthew sent me an anonymous message explaining everything. He’s been pretending to help you while gathering evidence. He hypnotized my parents on the plane, making the transfer agreement legally worthless.”
“And you kept this from me?” Emma shrieked, grabbing a water glass from the presentation table and smashing it on the floor.
“Wanted you to lower your guard completely,” I replied coldly. “Just returning the favor after all these years.”
Emma stood speechless. Olivia burst into tears from her front-row seat.
“So my brother isn’t a family traitor,” she sobbed, rushing onto the stage to hug Matthew. “Why did you keep this secret so long? Do you
know how much I’ve suffered thinking you betrayed us?”
I placed a hand on Olivia’s shoulder. Blake remained in the executive section, his expression dark and unreadable. Matthew clenched his
fists as he looked between his sister and me.
Emma burst into hysterical laughter, tears streaming down her face. The sound echoed through the venue’s speakers as she switched
between laughing and sobbing.
‘So clever, Matthew,’ she spat. “Playing the long game-pretending to help me while planning my downfall.”
She whipped around to face me, eyes wild. “And you, Aria. You’re not stupid. You had to notice the inconsistencies.”
That hit hard. I had noticed things didn’t add up, but I’d pushed those thoughts away.
“If Matthew wanted to catch me,” Emma continued, pointing at the screen, ‘sure, he’d pretend to help me hypnotize Richard and Elaine. But why abandon you at the wedding? Why stick by my side for months?”

The business atmosphere vanished. Those questions had been eating at me too.
“Emma, you’ve always manipulated people, I said into the mic, trying to sound confident despite my doubts. I trust Matthew wouldn’t
hurt me.”
