Chapter 270
‘Thanks, Liv,” I said. “When I need help, I’ll ask.”
Seeing how exhausted she looked, I suggested, “Get some rest. We’ll talk more later.
After Olivia left, Blake broke the silence. “Aria, Matthew’s back… does that make you happy?”
I caught the insecurity in his voice. “Are you unhappy about it?”
Blake spoke frankly. “I worry if Matthew proves he didn’t leave intentionally, you might go back to him.”
He continued, voice strained, “I hurt you because of Emma’s so-called life-saving favor. I have no right to stop you from choosing him
now.”
He waited tensely for my answer.
I realized our roles had reversed-now Blake anxiously awaited my decision, just as I had done three years ago.
I sighed softly, making Blake visibly tense.
“I understand if you choose Matthew,” he said, voice breaking. “I’ll still help rescue him.”
He stood to leave, but I caught his hand.
“Listen carefully,” I said firmly. “After we find Matthew, I won’t get back together with him, because I can’t let you go.”
Relief washed over his face.
“Our wedding is over,” I continued. “It’s been over for months.”
“Even if Matthew returns, you won’t go back to him?” Blake confirmed.
“True gratitude means helping Matthew find someone who truly loves him,” I explained. “And I’ll keep searching for specialists to treat his
hand.”
Blake pulled me against him, holding tight.
I thought about my controlled parents and missing Matthew. My determination hardened. Whoever orchestrated this would pay dearly.
Three days later, I sat reviewing market data while picking at breakfast. Dark circles shadowed my eyes from working nonstop.
“You’re not actually eating,’ Blake said, taking my fork. “Let me help.”

Chapter 270
“I’m not a child, I protested, glancing at William and Aurora playing nearby.
“I know,” Blake said. “I just want to help since you won’t let me assist with the proposal.”
“This is my responsibility,” I insisted. “I promised to handle Grant Group matters myself.”
Blake nodded, holding out a forkful of food. “Just one bite?”
I smiled despite myself and accepted. His tenderness was breaking through my defenses.
My phone buzzed. The message made me freeze.
“What’s wrong?” Blake asked.
I jumped up, grabbing my jacket. “Emma’s at Grant Group right now, with my parents.”
Blake and Olivia followed as I raced to the car.
I gripped the steering wheel, fury burning through me. Emma had moved faster than I expected.
