The CEO's Regret: His Lost Wife's Secret Twins novel Chapter 172

Chapter 172

‘Aria, please don’t walk out on me again, Blake’s voice dropped to a raw plea.

I knew his misunderstanding-he thought I was fleeing to Europe to escape him. But I refused to clear things up.

“Mr. Morgan, we have zero connection,” I said, my voice flat as pavement.

“As long as I want it, you’ll never break free from me,” Blake’s tone hardened.

“Watch me. I can and will leave you forever. I don’t care if we both go down in flames!” I fired back.

BLAKE

My face drained of color, my eyes burning. They triggered my worst nightmare-that day when I almost lost her forever.

I grabbed Aria again, holding her tight. “Don’t you ever say that again!”

My left hand showed its ugly scar, veins popping beneath the skin.

“Do you have to cut me this deep to feel satisfied?” I asked, voice breaking.

Aria’s eyes remained cold. “That’s rich coming from you. Who barged in here and created this whole disaster?”

Her words stabbed me. I had nothing to say.

The airport announcement cut through the silence, announcing boarding for flight BA23512.

‘I won’t make the same mistake again. I’m not letting you walk away,” I said, desperation edging into my voice.

“Are you deliberately trying to trash the life I’ve rebuilt?” Aria asked, ice in every syllable.

I gripped her wrist, barely keeping the begging out of my tone: “Aria, please stay.”

Last night Jack told me Aria had secretly booked a ticket, planning to vanish from New York. The thought made my chest constrict.

Aria looked at me with a mix of pity and disgust, like I was some deranged stranger. I knew what she was thinking-remembering how I’d crossed every line for Emma in the past.

What she didn’t know was that those actions were smoke and mirrors, hiding my feelings for her.

Aria pulled out her first-class ticket and ripped it to shreds before my eyes, dropping the pieces into the trash. Hope flared in my chest- had she finally decided to stay?

Chapter 172

‘Don’t get the wrong idea, she clarified, voice devoid of emotion. ‘I’m tearing this up because you’ve forced my hand, not because I want

to stay.”

She pointed out how I’d had security take down her driver and dragged her to this VIP room.

“So you destroyed the ticket not because you chose me, but because I backed you into a corner?” I asked, each word painful.

“Exactly,” Aria responded, clinical in her detachment.

Something broke inside me, a pain unlike anything I’d experienced-worse than the neurological attacks that had plagued me for three

years.

Aria watched my suffering with complete indifference. She pushed past me, grabbed her luggage, and headed for the door.

I knew she’d canceled her European trip and wasn’t leaving the country. But when her hand touched the door handle for the third time, I

blocked her path again.

“Aria… can’t you give me one more chance? Even out of pity?” I caught her hand, my voice raw. “Did you never feel anything for me? Not

even for a second?”

My eyes were bloodshot, my voice unsteady.

Aria paused, seemingly caught off guard by my question.

Then her face hardened. She looked down at me with cold, detached eyes. “You’re acting like a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum, Blake. As CEO of a global company, shouldn’t you have some dignity?” She threw my own words back at me. “Besides, I’m with Matthew now. We’re getting engaged soon.”

She pulled out her phone, offering to call Emma for me.

Her words shattered what remained of my heart. I released her hand, defeated, and forced a broken smile. “I get it now… we’re nothing to each other, and you owe me nothing… just go.”

‘Don’t expect to see me again, Blake, Aria said as she headed for the door. Blood shot up my throat as the pain hit like a freight train. I completely lost it and crumpled to the floor, watching her walk away without even looking back.
