The CEO's Regret: His Lost Wife's Secret Twins novel Chapter 166

Chapter 166

“Who’s your daddy?” I asked carefully.

“David! And Grandpa and Grandma said you got lots of money and can buy me cool toys!”

My stomach dropped. This was David and Bella’s son- the kid from David’s affair during his marriage to Olivia.

Ethan appeared from the living room in his cute little suit. When the boy – Ben – spotted Ethan, he darted past Olivia and ran into the

house.

“I’m your brother!” Ben shouted, racing toward Ethan.

Ethan looked confused, then frowned when Ben demanded, “Gimme that suit! Take it off! I wanna wear it!”

“No way, Ethan said firmly.

“Grandma said my brother lives in a big fancy house with my mommy and has awesome clothes! I want that suit NOW!” Ben insisted.

“This is MY suit,” Ethan replied, standing his ground. “Why would I give it to you?”

‘Cause my daddy doesn’t buy me nice stuff! You gotta share!”

Aurora jumped down from my arms and marched over. “That’s not how it works! If it’s Ethan’s, it’s Ethan’s!”

William joined her. ‘Ethan only has me as a brother. You’re nobody.”

“And you’re definitely not his sister either!” Aurora added, pointing at Ben.

Ben’s face turned bright red. He threw himself on the floor, screaming and kicking. “You guys are all MEAN to me!”

Then, shockingly, he started spewing curse words at our children – words that would make a sailor blush.

“Get OUT of my house!” Olivia demanded, her voice shaking.

“NO! Grandpa says this is MY house too!” Ben shrieked, grabbing a crystal fruit bowl from the coffee table and hurling it at Olivia.

I yanked her aside just in time. The bowl shattered against the wall.

This wasn’t random. This was the Coleman family’s calculated move using this kid to force Olivia to let them into her life. If Ben stayed, his grandparents would be next, claiming rights to Olivia’s home and money.

“Ben,” I said calmly, “do you really not want to go home?”

If you touch me, it’s CHILD ABUSE!’ he screamed, still rolling around. Grandpa said we’ll be FAMOUS on TV!’

That confirmed everything. I pulled out my phone and dialed 911.

Hi, yes, there’s an unaccompanied kid who forced his way into my friend’s house. We think this might be some kind of family scam… Yes, we’re worried about our safety… Thanks.”

The cops arrived within minutes. Ben went suddenly quiet when they escorted him to the police car. Half an hour later, David and his

parents rushed to the station.

The Coleman grandparents went full drama. “What have you DONE to our precious grandbaby?”

The officer stayed cool. “We have video of everything. Your grandson was found alone at a residence where he forced entry and started

breaking things.”

“We just sent him to visit his stepmom!” Mrs. Coleman wailed.

“Ex-stepmom,” the officer corrected. “And leaving a three-year-old alone like that is endangerment.”

David quickly apologized and promised to handle things better.

Later, Richard and Elaine took the kids ahead while Olivia and I followed in my car.

“That was my first real look at Ben, Olivia admitted. “My brain totally short-circuited.”

“David clearly sent Ben because you wouldn’t let him see Ethan,” I said. “He won’t quit, Liv. He’ll keep finding ways to mess with your

life.”

Olivia sighed. “I think I seriously need to find a decent guy and build a new family. For Ethan’s sake.”

“Just don’t rush it,” I warned. “A bad choice now could make everything worse.”

“I won’t,” she promised, but I could see the worry eating at her.

Olivia was juggling two missions – finding an actor to play a fake tech executive and finding a real partner to create stability for her family. She’d gotten tangled up in lies to protect Ethan’s confidence, needing someone to pretend the business partnership he’d written proposals for actually existed. I squeezed her hand, knowing she was doing everything for her kids.
