The CEO's Regret: His Lost Wife's Secret Twins novel Chapter 121

Chapter 121

Uh-huh! My mommy is the prettiest and smartest and bestest in the whole wide world!” I said, because it’s true. “Wanna see? I got

pictures on my watch!”

Mommy got me this cool watch for my birthday. It has games and pictures and I can call Mommy when I need her. I pressed the button to show them Mommy’s picture. My watch is blue and has unicorns on it. William brother says it’s a baby watch, but he’s just jealous.

“That’s a very nice watch,” Blake said. He was looking at my watch super close. “Did your mother give you that?”

“Yep! For my birthday! I’m three now!’ I held up three fingers to show him. “I had a unicorn cake and lots of presents and William brother was jealous because I got more toys than him on his birthday!”

Just when I was about to show them Mommy’s picture, I heard someone shouting my name.

“Aurora!!”

Uh-oh. It was Ivy, and she sounded mad. She ran over super fast, her face all red and puffy. Her glasses were almost falling off her nose, and she was carrying my pink jacket that I left at the bakery.

“Rory! I told you to stay where I could see you!” Ivy grabbed my hand. She looked scared. ‘I’m so sorry about this,” she told Blake and

Elizabeth.

“It’s quite alright, Elizabeth said. “She’s absolutely charming.”

Ivy looked at Blake’s shoes and her eyes got super big. “Oh my goodness! Your shoes! I’m so terribly sorry, sir. I’ll pay for the cleaning or

replacement.”

“No need,” Blake said. His voice was cold again, but not as cold as before. He bent down to look at me. “It was nice to meet you, Rory.”

‘I didn’t meet bad strangers like Mommy warned me about!” I told Ivy. “This man and lady are good people! The man has cold eyes, but

he didn’t get mad about his shoes!”

Blake stopped walking away when I said that. He turned around and looked at me funny again. His eyebrows went up high on his

forehead.

“Rory is super strong!” I told him, making a muscle with my arm. ‘I can knock down kids with one punch!”

That made Blake smile! A real smile, not a fake grown-up smile. He came back and shook my hand, very gentle. His hand was big and

warm, and it made my whole arm look tiny.

“Is that so?” he asked. “Well, if we meet again, perhaps you can show me how strong you are.”

Chapter 121

My watch started beeping with a special song. That’s Mommy calling! It plays the song Mommy sings to me at bedtime

That’s my mommy!’ I said. The picture of Mommy appeared on my watch screen. ‘I gotta go now! Bye nice lady! Bye cake shoe man’

Ivy grabbed my hand tight. We really must be going. Say goodbye, Miss Rory.”

“Bye-bye!” I waved with my free hand. ‘Sorry about your shoes again!”

As we walked away, I felt sad about my cake. “Ivy, I didn’t get to eat my cake. And I wanted to show Mommy the chocolate cake

“We can get another one on the way home,” Ivy said. “But we need to hurry. We sneaked out without telling Ethan, remember?”

“But Ethan will be mad! We didn’t tell him we were going out.”

Ivy smiled. “I think Ethan saw us leaving. He probably already knows.”

I turned around one more time. Blake and Elizabeth were still standing there, watching us. Blake looked sad. I wonder why grown-ups get sad about cake on shoes? I would just lick it off!

When we got home, I tiptoed inside as quietly as a super spy. But godmommy Olivia was sitting in the big chair with papers all around

her.

“Well, well,” Olivia said, looking up from her papers. “Looks like we have a little burglar sneaking in.”

“Not a burglar!” I said really fast. “It’s me, Rory!”
