He was angry.

Summer couldn't care less. She walked over, holding the signed divorce papers. "Sign it."

His rebellious streak flared. Covered in foot-bath water, Xavier shoved her hand aside and stormed straight toward the bathroom without even glancing at the document.

"Xavier, I want a divorce!"

Xavier froze halfway through the bathroom door. He turned around slowly, staring at her in sheer disbelief. "What did you just say, Summer?"

She stepped forward, holding out the paperwork. "The divorce agreement. I've already signed it. You sign it, and we're done."

Xavier snatched the document, looking down. It really was a divorce agreement. He flipped to the back—her signature was right there in black and white.

His dark eyes locked onto hers, cold and furious. Suppressing his rage, he demanded, "You're throwing a tantrum and demanding a divorce just because I gave Lily a hug?"

Summer met his accusatory glare unflinchingly. "To me, that wasn't just a hug."

Xavier was visibly livid. He planted his hands on his hips, his chest heaving. "I've already explained this to you! I have no romantic feelings for her; she saved my life! Why won't you believe me?! Summer, you never used to be like this. Even if you're jealous, there has to be a limit!"

"Sign it," Summer demanded coldly, completely unmoved.

Xavier felt like he was losing his mind.

From slapping him at the airport to physically injuring him at the estate, and now splashing dirty water in his face—he had endured it all without holding it against her.

He never expected her to double down and slap divorce papers in his face.

She was provoking him over and over again.

Unable to hold back his anger any longer, Xavier snapped, "What do you think marriage is, Summer? What do you think I am? You can't just act like a spoiled brat and treat our marriage like a joke just because you know I love you. Do not bring up divorce again. I won't agree to it."

With a violent tear, he ripped the divorce agreement to shreds.

Bang!

Xavier slammed the bathroom door shut.
