The moment Xavier got close, Summer caught his scent. Masking his familiar cologne was the undeniable, sickeningly sweet fragrance of another woman's perfume.

The scent hit her like a physical blow, making her stomach churn violently.

"Enough, Summer. I can expl—"

"Don't touch me. You reek. It's disgusting." Summer shoved him hard, backing away several paces to put distance between them.

Xavier didn't miss the intense revulsion in her eyes. As a man, his pride was wounded, and Summer's repeated provocations were rapidly draining his patience.

"Summer!"

Two male voices rang out simultaneously. One was Xavier's cold, furious reprimand; the other was warm and clear.

Summer followed the gentle voice and turned to see Sebastian Stone.

Sebastian was pushing a sleek suitcase, having evidently just stepped off a flight. He was dressed in a sharp, custom-tailored black suit that accentuated his tall, commanding frame.

A pair of gold-rimmed glasses rested on the bridge of his nose, giving him an aura of refined elegance.

He walked over to Summer, leaned down, and gave her a polite, gentlemanly hug. "Long time no see, Summer."

He had definitely seen the confrontation and hugged her deliberately to show his support.
