The watching Demons shuddered as they felt the violent shockwaves from a distance.
What the fuck had just happened?!
How did this Peak Primal Demon unleash such devastation?!
It made no sense!
When they saw its current appearance, they felt like the pillar was helpless. It had used all of its power. Even a Mid Primal Demon could kill it in this state.
Yet, it was still alive, while the other Demon had died.
Their instincts became confused.
This thing was weak!
But it killed a Late Crusher Demon!
But it was so weak!
But it killed something strong!
How?!
Moments later, the spindly legs of the pillar moved back and forth, trying to get hold of the ground so the pillar could stand up again.
Muscles and blood appeared around the bone as the pillar moved a bit more. The legs finally got hold of the ground, and the pillar stood up again.
The flesh regrew faster as the process of generating Biological Energy went into full motion again. Within seconds, the smooth appearance of the pillar returned.
Then, the hammerhead shook as the pillar slowly lifted it, revealing a pile of unrecognizable gore beneath it.
The hammer slowly moved over the pillar.
Ding!
The hammer touched the ground behind the pillar lightly before returning to its old position.
The current appearance of the pillar was identical to its appearance when it had just arrived. The only things that had changed were the devastated surroundings and the squished corpse in front of it.
The Demons just watched in shock and confusion as the pillar scurried towards the squished corpse. It reached the corpse quickly, and moments later, countless thin but long arms came out of an opening near its base. The arms investigated the squished corpse, tearing it into pieces before harvesting the Beast Core.
Yet, the Demons didn't even pay any attention to the hands. They were distracted by something else.
When the arms had come out of their opening, the Demons had noticed something shocking.
The opening was filled to the brim with Beast Cores of Crusher Beasts!
There were thousands!
If the Demons were humans, their hearts would be filled with greed. However, as proud Divine Beasts, the Demons had no desire to consume beasts they hadn't killed themselves.
Divine Beasts were designed to become Immortals. They were supposed to be opponents and treasure troves for Immortal Seekers. Employing underhanded tactics would only grant short-term benefits with long-term detriments. Any Beast Core they received without a fight was one instance less of tempering and battle experience. That was also why Divine Beasts never argued about corpses. They were only supposed to consume the resources they could attain with their own powers.
However, the Beast Cores were still very attractive to them. Usually, Demons consumed the Beast Cores of their prey to increase their power while dumping the bodies into the Law Wells. Yet, dumping Beast Cores into Law Wells would be even better.
If they allowed the pillar to come to their Law Well, it was bound to use some of its wealth to feed the Law Well. It was just natural.
While they were watching, the pillar let go of the hammer and grabbed the squished corpse. Then, it became upright again before throwing the corpse into the distance.
The corpse flew for over 2,000 kilometers before landing in the middle of the Gravity Lightning Law Well.
The pillar had already contributed to the Law Well's health.
The distant Peak Crusher Beasts felt their negative feelings weakening. They did not feel as much animosity towards the pillar as the Late Crusher Demons. The reason for that was simple. The Peak Crusher Beasts were in the center of the Law Well. They had the best place. The Late Crusher Beasts could only absorb the Energy the Peak Crusher Beasts left them. The pillar couldn't enter the center, which was why its presence wasn't a threat to them. As long as it contributed to the Law Well, they didn't care.
Meanwhile, the Late Crusher Demons still felt some animosity. The addition of another Demon would leave less Energy for them.
The Demon was an amalgamation of wings and long spears, covered in lightning. While the vast majority of Demons took advantage of their tremendous physical power to kill the enemy, not all of them were like that, and this one was one of them.
This Demon used its physical power to push its speed to the maximum in an effort to keep a comfortable distance between it and its opponent. To kill its opponent, it relied on its mastery over lightning to launch devastating attacks from far away.
The pillar was only dangerous from close range. As long as the Demon didn't enter its range, it could kill the pillar easily.
The Demon shouted in dominance, sounding like the screech of a hawk.
Then, it shot forward, leaving the surroundings of its Law Well. Fighting near the Law Well was forbidden, even if there was no way that the fight would damage it.
The Demon stopped at a distance of 500 kilometers, which was still outside the pillar's Energy Sense... under normal circumstances.
After another screech, the Demon fired several lances of lightning towards the pillar.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The lances all struck the ground around the pillar, almost like these spots had been their target from the start. In truth, the pillar had just slightly scurried to the side. While the attacks had tremendous speeds, they had been fired from a significant distance.
When the Demon saw that, it fired more lances, which also missed.
In response, the Demon flew closer, the distance between them reducing to 300 kilometers.
Lightning gathered around the Demon's wings, and moments later, it pushed its wings forward.
A huge ball of misty lightning flew towards the pillar, an area attack.
There was no way it could avoid this attack!
