cold. “We’ll
see.
We did nothing wrong; why
apologize?”
Chloe’s eyes gleamed with malice.“Alice, you’re naive. Even if Garrett Yates attacked first, if the Yates family acts, your boyfriend will lose his job. That’s how the Yates family operate.
Understand?”
Andrew Yates scoffed.“Miss Chloe, that’s vicious. The Yates family aren’t like that. Are you to them? Stop spreading lies.”
close
“Of course I’m close to them. People like you wouldn’t understand how easily the wealthy crush ordinary people–like squishing an ant.” Chloe was smug, acting like she was already part of the Yates family.
Andrew Yates was speechless. This was absurd! He watched her leave, muttering to Alice, “Alice, do all your family members talk like that?”
“Chloe is usually more subtle. Being with Garrett Yates has clearly inflated her ego, revealing her true colors.”
Alice looked at Jack, worried. “I’ll hire a lawyer; you won’t have to apologize.” Jack had acted to protect her; she couldn’t abandon him.
Jack, seeing her worry, softened.“Don’t worry. It’s a minor issue.”
Andrew Yates added, “Alice, don’t worry. I’m here. That kid won’t cause trouble.” Alice remembered Andrew Yates was wealthy.
She was downcast.“It’s all because of me. If it weren’t for me…”
Jack lightly tapped her forehead. She looked at him questioningly.
Jack’s eyes were deep.“Your words sounded like something Chloe would say. I stopped you before you started acting like her.”
“But…”
“Garrett Yates was attacking me, not you.” Jack had seen her push him aside, trying to take the hit herself. His voice was low.“Can your little body handle that? Don’t be reckless next time.”
“Alice, Jack would be fine, but you would have been hurt. It’s okay for a man to be hurt.”
Alice felt down.

it:”

Alice nodded and entered the apartment. Jack and Andrew Yates went to the next room. Jack said coldly, “What’s wrong with the Yates family”
“I didn’t expect that. If Luke hadn’t interrupted, I’d have slapped Garrett Yates. I’d have taught him a lesson.”
“Remember to talk to your cousin at the hospital tomorrow.” Jack’s eyes were dark; Alice’s mood had been affected.
Andrew Yates nodded reluctantly. Who would have expected this?
lice felt restless. The Garrett Yates incident wouldn’t end easily. She couldn’t let Jack bear the brunt of the Yates family’s wrath.

Her phone rang; it was Noah. She hesitated before answering.“Hello, Second Brother.” “Alice, I know about Garrett Yates. It’s troublesome, but Luke and I will handle it. Stay out of it. Come home. End things with that doctor.”
Alice’s lips tightened at his suggestion to abandon Jack.“This is because of me. I won’t run away.” She wouldn’t betray Jack.
“Alice, don’t be stubborn. Come home. I promise you’ll be safe.”
“If that’s all, goodbye.” She hung up. She wouldn’t obey.
Noah sighed. Luke asked, “Did she agree?”
“No.”
“Is Alice crazy? She can’t handle this alone. The Yates family will crush her.” Noah knew the seriousness of the situation.“Get the best doctor and nurses for Garrett Yates. Keep him happy; he might be easier to deal with then.” If reconciliation failed, they’d need Big Brother’s help.
Alice woke up with dark circles. She hadn’t slept well, worrying about Garrett Yates. She opened her phone to a message from her lawyer: [Bring a gift to the hospital. Try to reconcile with them.]
She felt irritated. If she had to apologize, she would; Jack shouldn’t have to. But she needed to go to school.
She went to the next apartment; breakfast was ready. Jack was in his study; Andrew Yates was probably still asleep. Remembering last night’s failed confession, she left a note and left without disturbing Jack.
She went to school. Red banners were displayed, celebrating high school graduation rates. Another banner read: 【Congratulations to XX, City’s Top Scorer!] The student’s name was hidden.
When Alice arrived, everyone discussed the results. After the exam, she’d become a gaming
skilled, patient, and goddess,
a high achiever. She was an inspiration.
Chloe approached.“Goddess, how did you do? I heard the top scorer is in our class. Is it you?” A classmate sneered.“It’s not Alice. I heard she failed her writing exam; she barely passed.”
Alice said coldly, “I still scored higher than you.”
Chloe, impeccably dressed, entered.“Alice, I know you’re upset retake the exam, I’ll accompany you.”

your score. If you want to.
Alice was already upset about Garrett Yates; Chloe
was looking for trouble.
“You’re laughable. Your score is less than half of mine. Even if I answered randomly, I’d still score higher!”

The readers' comments on the novel: Six Brothers Plea for Forgiveness (Alice)
This story is incomplete!!! You get us into the story then you leave us with a cliff hanger. Plus there's so many errors. It is obvious that English is second ( or 3rd) language. Author has mixed up names on several characters. Mixed up he/she , him/her. Made story too long by repetitive sentences. Made it look like the reader wasnt able to retain parts of the story by repeating certain aspects. I know authors do that but this author did it too often. This story lets you see what an eye for an eye would mean to some cultures. Needs MAJOR proof reading. Pro: great family drama. The one emotion you feel the most in this story is anger & discuss. There are a few funny (actually hilarious) parts in there. You want the good guy to win even though he may been at fault for something. You want justice for Alice and you want to see her independent from her brothers totally. I feel the author is on the right track but just needs to clean it up....
Except Alice's and Jack's names, all other names are mixed. And why there is LUKE'S FATHER instead of EATHEN...
I want yo ask that wht Alice's surname is keep on changing from Wolsh to Windham to Lu???? And Andrew to Garett? And Jane's name to Chloe as well...
