Chapter 90
Alice’s answer was laced with sarcasm. The reporters hadn’t expected such a blunt response. Luke was angry that she so clearly underestimated him. Chloe, however, spoke first.“Alice, why would
that? The match hasn’t started yet. We’ve worked hard. You can’t belittle our efforts just because you’re talented.”

Chloe continued, “Alice, you quit the competition, but you shouldn’t pour cold water on us.” “I’m doing this for your own good. Avoid arrogance and complacency, which can lead to mistakes.” Alice looked at the reporters.“Sixth Brother’s right. It’s not just about skill; teamwork matters. Miss Chloe and Sixth Brother’s teamwork is excellent. You’ll win easily.” Luke’s face darkened; he knew she was being sarcastic.
Chloe was furious.“Alice, are you here to watch us fail?”
“No, I’m a VIP guest. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be here.”
Fans immediately gave her gifts.“Goddess Lemon, we’re your Lemon Tea fans. This is a handmade figurine for you.”
Alice was surprised by their enthusiasm.“Thank you everyone.” She was surrounded for photos. Chloe, ignored, was furious.“Sixth Brother, look at Alice. This is “our” match; we should be the focus!” Alice had stolen all the attention.
Luke, remembering Alice’s words from last night, left in a huff. Chloe was exasperated Half an hour later, Alice escaped the crowd.“Let’s watch the match; we’ll be late.” Chloe pulled her along.“I told you to wear a mask. See how enthusiastic the fans are?”
“I didn’t think of that.”
Entering the arena, Alice noticed the skilled opposing team; their captain was renowned for his composure. Luke was impulsive and easily exploited. She’d endured his rage in her past life. She wanted to see how Luke and Chloe would fare without her.
“Alice, I brought popcorn and drinks.” Noah appeared with two servings of popcorn and drinks. He sat next to her.“The match is long. Have some.”
Alice looked at him.“Second Brother, instead of eating, help Landing avoid a humiliating loss.”
“Sixth Brother deserves this. He should learn his lesson.” Noah didn’t expect them to win without Alice; Chloe’s skills were too weak.
Chloe received popcorn from Noah, unsure what to do with it.“Landing could easily hire a gunner. Why Chloe? It’s suicidal! Everyone saw how bad she was in the revival match.” Alice smirked.“Because they’re family.”
Noah was speechless; he
he didn’t understand Luke’s motive. To spite Alice?
The match began. Alice knew Landing would lose badly. Luke’s temper flared; he attacked impulsively. Chloe couldn’t keep up, exposing their positions; her attacks missed.
Luke yelled, “Chloe, what’s wrong? Shoot! Are you blind? You missed at point–blank range!”
“I tried! They’re suppressing me!” Chloe was anxious; no one covered her.
The opponents pressed their attack. Luke yelled as he moved, “Chloe, snipe their mage! Why can’t you hit anyone?”
“I tried! They have good protection. No one protects me!”
“You’re the gunner! That’s your job! If Alice were here…” Luke blurted out.
The team fell silent; they all agreed. If Alice were here…
Chloe burst into tears.“I can’t compare to Alice, but I tried my best! Sixth Brother, you were impulsive and got ambushed!”
“You’re backtalking? The revival match was worse, and Alice still broke through! You said you could do it, but you can’t!” Luke was on the verge of a breakdown. He’d believed Chloe had improved based on her recent practice
practice matches. She hadn’t improved at all!
Luke regretted everything. Chloe cried and followed the team.
They lost badly. Luke slammed his keyboard, glaring at Chloe.“You played so badly! This is a match, not practice! You’re not even half as good as Alice!”
Luke remembered how effortless it had been with Alice. He’d handled everything himself lately, realizing how much work it was; Alice had handled most of it before. He hadn’t known.
Chloe was stunned; Luke had yelled at her in front of everyone, saying she was inferior to Alice. Seeing the cameras on her, she started crying.“I’m sorry. I really tried my best. I’m so sorry!”
“Cry, cry, cry! Does crying solve problems?” Luke was furious. He saw Alice in the VIP seats; his expression was desperate. He couldn’t do

without her. He needed her!
The camera switched to Alice.

The readers' comments on the novel: Six Brothers Plea for Forgiveness (Alice)
This story is incomplete!!! You get us into the story then you leave us with a cliff hanger. Plus there's so many errors. It is obvious that English is second ( or 3rd) language. Author has mixed up names on several characters. Mixed up he/she , him/her. Made story too long by repetitive sentences. Made it look like the reader wasnt able to retain parts of the story by repeating certain aspects. I know authors do that but this author did it too often. This story lets you see what an eye for an eye would mean to some cultures. Needs MAJOR proof reading. Pro: great family drama. The one emotion you feel the most in this story is anger & discuss. There are a few funny (actually hilarious) parts in there. You want the good guy to win even though he may been at fault for something. You want justice for Alice and you want to see her independent from her brothers totally. I feel the author is on the right track but just needs to clean it up....
Except Alice's and Jack's names, all other names are mixed. And why there is LUKE'S FATHER instead of EATHEN...
I want yo ask that wht Alice's surname is keep on changing from Wolsh to Windham to Lu???? And Andrew to Garett? And Jane's name to Chloe as well...
