Alice showed no emotion at Chloe’s boast. She could make her own money now, Her expression was calm.“The sizes are right. Bag them.” 

Chloe’s sidekick sneered, “Alice, you’re pretending! The school nurse rented those fancy cars, but they were rented!” 

Chloe smirked, finally getting her revenge. 

Alice held her shopping bags. At least I’m spending my own money. I don’t rely on anyone.” 

Chloe said sweetly, “Relying on family is a blessing. Why fight with them? Just apologize and go back. I envy your family.” 

Jane couldn’t take it anymore.“Chloe, stop the fake sympathy! If Alice hadn’t been driven away, she would still be home. It’s all your fault!” 

Chloe smiled. “But my brothers like me better. I can’t help it. It’s not my fault.” 

Alice didn’t bother arguing. Last time, she would’ve been upset, fighting with Chloe. Now, she didn’t care about her brothers favoring Chloe. 

Leaving the store, Jane said angrily, “Chloe, even if you act like this, you’re not the real heiress!” 

Chloe gritted her teeth. One day, she’d completely displace Alice. 

Jane followed Alice.“Alice, why are you letting Chloe bully you?” 

I’m not angry, why are you?” 

“But you’re the real sister! I thought your personality was the problem. Now I know it was Chloe! 

Alice said calmly, “It’s not entirely Chloe’s fault. My brothers prefer obedient sisters; Chloe is good at that.” She’d been genuinely kind to them, but they’d ignored it. Chloe just knew how to 

act. 

Jane 

said, “Now I understand why you’re livestreaming–to make money, right?” 

“I’m making a lot of money, don’t worry!” 

Jane, seeing how popular Alice was, wasn’t as worried.“Do your brothers know you’re the streamer?” 

“They didn’t before. Now… I don’t know.” After last night’s battle with Luke, he probably knew. She hadn’t tried to hide it; she’d signed with Shrimp Live and was famous. Even if her family found out, they couldn’t stop her. 

That night, Alice’s livestating 

was promoted on Shrimp Live’s homepage. She was in a good mood, battling and commentating simultaneously. Her skill attracted many fans. Noah watched the livestream, hearing Alice’s happy voice. He felt a pang of loss. She hadn’t returned home, hadn’t used the family’s money. She was successful. 

Luke stumbled in, drunk. “Noah, you’re watching her too! She knew it was me, and she mocked. me! Does she even care about me?” 

Noah sighed.“It’s your fault. How did you treat her? She’s heartbroken and won’t come back.” “But I apologized! What more does she want? Noah, I feel terrible!” 

Luke, if you want to win her back, change your attitude. Be nicer to her!” Noah finally realized

he’d ignored Alice. 

“We weren’t bad to her? You were hospitalized for days, and she didn’t visit! She’s heartless!” Luke rambled, drunk. 

Noah watched the livestream, feeling helpless. Alice didn’t visit because she was hurt. This wast his karmic retribution. He’d been blind to her kindness. 

Noah sent ten ‘Carnival‘ gifts, dominating the screen for a while. Alice saw the name and pursed her lips–Noah. She pretended not to see it. 

Sweet Lemon, will you be at the Net Idol Salon tomorrow?* 

Alice replied, “Yes.” 

“Is it hard to get an invitation? I want to meet you!”

Alice, fumbling in the dark, bumped into a vase. It shattered.. 

“Stay there!” Jack’s voice was urgent and cold. 

Alice stood still, unsure where the shards were. She saw a flashlight approaching. Jack came closer, his silhouette looming in the darkness. 

Alice said, “I didn’t bring my phone. Thank you for coming back.” 

She bent down, but Jack suddenly approached. “Put your hands here.” 

Feeling his closeness, she realized he was going to carry her. She put her hands on his shoulders, and he scooped her up. She felt his warmth–his body was firm, unlike a girl’s. It was her first time being carried like this by a stranger, her heart pounding.
