Alice watched Ethan slap Chloe, sending her spinning. She stumbled, trying to regain her balance, but everyone recoiled, fearing they’d be hit. Chloe landed hard on the lawn, half her face swelling instantly. Alice clicked her tongue; thankfully, this was an outdoor party. Indoors, Chloe would have cracked her skull. 

Everyone was shocked. Finn rushed to Ethan.“Brother, what are you doing? Are you trying to kill her?” 

“If I could, I would,” Ethan seethed. Chloe had ruined everything.
