Chapter 309.
Jack, focused on catching up to Alice, didn’t watch his step. He fell, groaning.
Hearing the sound, Alice turned and rushed back to help him up. “Are you okay? She saw blood on his hand. “I’ll get the first–aid kit.”
Jack grabbed her hand.“Don’t go.”
Alice lowered her head. “Let’s stop the bleeding first.”
“I’ll come with you.” Jack stood and followed her.
The gym
owner, seeing Jack injured, said, “The first–aid kit is in my office.”
They went to his office. The owner handed the kit to Alice and left.
Alice disinfected Jack’s wound. “You need stitches.”
Jack looked at her, unsure what to say.
Alice put on a bandage. She felt his gaze. She turned to leave, but he grabbed her wrist. Alice didn’t turn around. “I need to go back to school.”
Jack looked ΠΕ her wrist. Let’s cool off for а few days, then talk, okay?” Alice, seeing his injured
didn’t push him Jack sighed in relief.“I’ll take you back.”
arm,
away. She nodded faintly.
“No,” Alice refused.“If people find out who you are, I don’t want to be in the headlines. You rarely took me to crowded places before.” She realized he’d been booking places privately to avoid being recognized.
Jack was speechless.
› Alice left the gym after changing. She felt someone following her but didn’t look back. Once on campus, she hid behind a tree and looked back. He was at the school entrance, tall and handsome. Two girls approached him for his contact information.
Alice looked away. What was she hoping for?
“Are you okay?” Mary Parker, sitting on a bench, asked. She looked uneasy. I’m fine.” Mary Parker glanced at the man at the school gate–the Tremaine heir. She hadn’t expected Jack to be the Tremaine heir.
Alice sat beside Mary Parker, who was reading.“Wipe your tears.”
Alice took the tissue Mary Parker offered. Mary Parker hesitated. “Your boyfriend is handsome.” Alice knew Mary Parker had seen Jack.“You know who he is now; I just found out.” “Is that why you’re fighting?” Mary Parker guessed correctly. She’d heard rumors that Jack was poor. Who would have thought he was the Tremaine heir?
“Yes. He lied to me for so long. Alice knew Mary Parker, being from a wealthy family, had interacted with the Tremaines and probably knew Jack.
Alice looked at Mary Parker.“Did my brother meet Jack?”
“I don’t know, but their circles don’t usually overlap. I only met him a few times as a child.” Jack, with his status, was busy with work and rarely appeared in public.

Mary Parker continued, “My situation with your brother isn’t settled; the Chens haven‘ publicized his identity; he’s not introduced to those circles.” It was normal Ethan didn’t know Jack.
Alice understood.“I broke up with him. We’re not suitable; plus, he has a fiancée.” “He doesn’t have a fiancée. The headlines were false. The Mos wanted their eldest daughter to marry Jack. Mrs. Wilson agreed, but Daniel didn’t; the rumors were false.” Mary Parker looked seriously at Alice. “You can doubt my character, but not my information. Alice smiled; Mary Parker’s information was reliable. Even so, our social status is too different. I don’t want that kind of pressure.” Being with Jack would mean countless obstacles. And he’d hidden his identity from the start.
“From what I know, Daniel is a good, ambitious young man. If you truly love each other, he’ll handle everything. Mrs. Wilson and his grandmother are kind.”
Alice thought about Mrs. Wilson’s kindness; she probably wouldn’t like her now.
“Let’s talk about. the future later.” Alice couldn’t think that far ahead.
Mary Parker changed the subject.“Alice, are you free to go back to the Land mansion?” “I can go anytime, but did. you tell my brother?”
Mary Parker shook her head. “No. I don’t want to.” She wanted a surprise to see the situation clearly. Mary Parker, despite appearing quiet and self–deprecating, was decisive. Alice raised an eyebrow.“Ethan will be unhappy if you show up unannounced.”
Mary Parker pondered.“I’ll text him later.”
Alice’s phone buzzed. Lewis had posted in the family group chat:“[I’ve reserved a table at Pear Garden to celebrate Chloe and me. Let’s discuss the engagement.]*
So fast? Alice said to Mary Parker, “Come to Pear Garden tonight; it’ll be a show.”

The readers' comments on the novel: Six Brothers Plea for Forgiveness (Alice)
This story is incomplete!!! You get us into the story then you leave us with a cliff hanger. Plus there's so many errors. It is obvious that English is second ( or 3rd) language. Author has mixed up names on several characters. Mixed up he/she , him/her. Made story too long by repetitive sentences. Made it look like the reader wasnt able to retain parts of the story by repeating certain aspects. I know authors do that but this author did it too often. This story lets you see what an eye for an eye would mean to some cultures. Needs MAJOR proof reading. Pro: great family drama. The one emotion you feel the most in this story is anger & discuss. There are a few funny (actually hilarious) parts in there. You want the good guy to win even though he may been at fault for something. You want justice for Alice and you want to see her independent from her brothers totally. I feel the author is on the right track but just needs to clean it up....
Except Alice's and Jack's names, all other names are mixed. And why there is LUKE'S FATHER instead of EATHEN...
I want yo ask that wht Alice's surname is keep on changing from Wolsh to Windham to Lu???? And Andrew to Garett? And Jane's name to Chloe as well...
