Lewis said, “Big brother, you have big ambitions, but you shouldn’t use Chloe to try and off to a rich guy. It’ll ruin her.”

“I won’t let you die!” Lewis grabbed another knife but was stopped by Ethan.“Are you crazy? “Big brother, I’ve loved Chloe since forever. Alice said lightly, “If you want me to drop the charges against Chloe, I made a condition to Big brother, which he hasn’t told you yet.” 

Lewis and Chloe looked at Ethan. 

Lewis asked, “Big brother, what was the condition?” 

Ethan looked uncomfortable and didn’t answer. 

Alice smiled.“Fifth brother, you were injured and had your leg amputated; I carried the blame for years. Big brother should clear my name.” She looked at Ethan.“If Big brother clarifies what happened, I won’t pursue charges. A good deal, right?” 

Lewis looked at Ethan.“Big brother, what’s going on?” 

Ethan was furious but couldn’t do anything to Alice. 

He said through gritted teeth, “Lewis, when you were injured and needed amputation, I was heartbroken; I didn’t know what to do. Try to understand.” 

Alice interrupted.“So, you intentionally didn’t answer the phone, forcing me to make the decision?” 

Ethan’s face was grim.“Big brother had no choice…” 

“Mr. Land, just answer yes or no.” Alice pressed him. 

Ethan’s face twisted. After a long pause, he answered, “Yes.” His voice lacked conviction.
