Alice was shocked when Caleb hit Chloe. Caleb had always been kind to Chloe, even letting her bully Alice. He’d sided with Chloe when they’d clashed in the infirmary. He’d even slapped Alice. Why the sudden change? Alice didn’t feel happy; she just thought he was even crazier. Chloe, eyes brimming with tears, hadn’t expected this either. Caleb said coldly, “Apologize. Chloe, sobbing, said, “Sister Alice, it’s my fault. I wrongly copied your ideas and influenced Brother and the others to you.” 

Alice felt no emotion. Caleb looked at Alice, his tone gentler.“I saw the video. It was Chloe’s fault. It has nothing to do with you.” 

Alice found this ridiculous. They thought a simple apology would erase everything? Her voice was cold.“I understand. Are you finished?” 

“Alice, Caleb explained everything, and Chloe apologized. Don’t stay angry. It’s causing family. problems,” Caleb said, more like a threat than a plea. 

Alice raised an eyebrow.“I’m not angry. The family mistreated me. Why should I 

go back? 

“You’re right. I’ll talk to Brother. Don’t worry.” Caleb waved dismissively. “You’re meeting friends for dinner, right? Go.” 

Alice left without looking back. Caleb’s smile vanished. He looked at Chloe.“Was I unkind to you? I hate being lied to. Remember?” 

Chloe, tears in her eyes, finally understood Caleb’s nature. He’d been kind to her, making her forget his temper. Her plan at the party backfired. 

Caleb’s tone softened.“Ice your face. I’ll give you a role in my new movie. Here’s the script.” 

“Thank you, Brother Four. Chloe was delighted. 

“It’s nothing. You helped me when I was attacked by my enemies.” Chloe lowered her eyes, hiding her guilt. Alice had actually summoned help. But she couldn’t admit it. Caleb had disliked her, but changed after that incident. She wouldn’t reveal the truth. Everything she had was deserved. 

Alice stepped out of the van, breathing in the fresh air. She looked back at the van, her eyes cold. She wouldn’t let this continue. She only cooperated with Caleb’s interview because she feared. he’d target Jiang Lu. 

After dinner, Alice returned to the dorm. Guoguo told her, “Caleb posted the interview video on Weibo.”

Guoguo said hesitantly, “Caleb’s rival for the Best Actor award was recently accused of domestic violence by his ex–girlfriend. Caleb’s video is perfectly timed and cleverly worded.” 

Alice sneered. “Yes. My brother never does anything without profit.” He explained his injury, tarnished his rival, gained public sympathy, and forced her to cooperate. Four birds with one stone. But he claimed he’d come to reconcile. She’d never understood him in her 

past life. She’d thought they were close, but he abandoned her when she threatened his interests. 

Alice opened WhatsApp, seeing Mo’s message from yesterday about something important. She’d forgotten. She saw a missed call from Mo–Jack had answered. 

She texted Jack, “Does Mo have a girlfriend?”

Alice said, “You answered Mo’s call last night, right?”

“What did he say?” 

Jack’s lips thinned.“Nothing.” 

“Really?” 

“What do you think he’d say?” 

Alice replied, “If I knew, I wouldn’t ask you.” 

Jack thought Mo hadn’t had a chance to speak. Good. They fell silent. Jack said, “Get some rest. 

“Okay. Bye.” 

Alice hung up, deciding to go boxing. If she was stronger, she could have resisted yesterday. Several sponsors called, wanting to sponsor the team. It was because of Caleb’s video; everyone knew she was a famous actor’s sister. It felt disgusting. Caleb had done this on purpose 

Alice checked the team’s expenses; they needed sponsors. Jack called, his voice low.“Short on cash?” 

“I’m not. The team is. I had a conflict with Max. Mo withdrew their sponsorship and pressured other companies.” 

“I could sponsor you. Why not ask?” 

Alice hesitated.“I wanted to see if I could get sponsors without connections.” 

“Using connections is a skill. Don’t be so naive.” 

Alice smiled.“Thanks for the sponsorship, Boss.” 

She hung up, but someone sprayed white confetti on her.“Alice, drop the charges! Let our brother go!” They held Luke’s fan signs. 

She grabbed the confetti. Caleb rushed out, shielding her.
