Henry’s statement silenced the courtroom. Chloe, speechless, looked like a strangled chicken, her face flushed. 

What? That renowned lawyer was Alice’s counsel? Did she mishear? 

Chloe, her face still swollen, looked at Garrett Yates, questioning him.“Didn’t you say nobody would take Maple Leafs case?” Not only did someone take it, but it was this famous lawyer! 

Garrett Yates was equally shocked.“Mr. Henry, did I mishear? Aren’t you retired from small cases?”

Henry said calmly, “Mr. Ethan, you need evidence. My client acted in self–defense. Ms. Chloe was the aggressor.” 

Ethan, surprised Henry was even involved in this petty squabble, fell silent,

Chloe tossed the documents back to Alice.“There.” 

Alice took them, giving Chloe a knowing smile. This infuriated Chloe. Was she being mocked?

Chloe cried, “Brother, Alice is too much!” 

Luke, sarcastically, “Didn’t you throw her documents first?” 

“But I was trying to help her.” 

“Trying to help her by throwing away her documents?” 

Chloe was speechless. 

Ethan said, “Luke, stop taking Alice’s side. She didn’t spare you either.” Luke gave a wry smile.“I deserve this. Brother, I hope you see the truth soon, before you regret it.” 

He left. 

Chloe glanced at Luke. He was facing a lawsuit, his career ruined. Useless to her now. She didn’t want to be associated with him. 

Chloe asked Garrett Yates, “What’s the deal between
