Chapter 157
Alice looked at Chloe. Why should she help?
“Have you forgotten what you said and did at the event yesterday?” She wasn’t a pushover. Chloe looked guilty. “I… I was manipulated by Jason.”
“Oh, and that’s my problem? He didn’t take “my” nudes.” If it were her, Chloe would have already spread them around. Some people felt entitled to others‘ help. Alice wouldn’t tolerate it. If she lacked morals, morals wouldn’t bind her.
Chloe burst into tears, clinging to Chloe, hoping she’d intervene.
Chloe said softly, “You were pretty harsh yesterday. Apologize to Alice.” You can’t bully someone and then expect help.
Chloe cried harder. She wouldn’t apologize. She’d always been the most popular in the dorm and looked down on Alice. Yet, Alice had become a famous streamer! The injustice was unbearable.
Unable to sleep, Alice went to the library. She needed to catch up on her studies. Many students. watched her. When she looked at them, they looked away.
A girl passed her a note: [I’m your fan. Autograph?] Alice signed her notebook. Soon, more fans. arrived. She left to avoid disturbing others.
Two girls approached her. They were official club members. After Alice dealt with Jason, they’d been the only ones to believe her.
One hesitated.“Will you run for club captain?”
“Me?”
“Yes, you’re skilled. Jason’s character is known; he’s hurt many girls, but no one dared to speak up.
you become captain, this won’t happen again.”
If
Alice considered.“I haven’t heard about a captain election.”
“I plan to report Jason. Seeing what happened to Chloe, I regretted not speaking up earlier. If I had, other girls wouldn’t have been hurt.”
“Once the school investigation starts, he’ll be removed. There will be a new election. You’re popular; you’ll win!”
Alice was touched by their conviction. Girls really were the best. She hadn’t wanted to join the club because of Jason, but removing him would be perfect.
Alice agreed. “If you need help, ask.”
They smiled.“We have enough evidence.”
Alice bought some food and considered learning self–defense. She had many enemies and needed to protect herself.
A flyer for a new gym caught her eye–boxing.
“Do you teach boxing?”
“Yes, our owner’s a professional boxer. Girls can learn self–defense.”
“I’ll take it.”
The gym owner was a middle–aged man. “You’re thin. You don’t need to lose weight, but
you
can
build strength.”
Alice said, “I want to learn self–defense quickly. To fight!”
The owner hesitated. “Young lady, are you looking for a fight?”
“Double the price.”
“It’s not about the money.”
“I’m a streamer with a million followers. I can bring you customers.”
The owner coughed.“Self–defense is useful for girls. When do you want to start? “Today!” She wanted to become stronger. She’d wanted a quiet life, but she’d have to eliminate obstacles.
Alice was thoroughly beaten, resting on the floor.
The owner said, “You’re strong.”
“Yes. I’ve always been.”
“You’re talented at boxing!”
Alice went home, her legs trembling. It was exhausting. Chloe was still crying; Chloe had brought her dinner, which she hadn’t
which she hadn’t eaten. Alice showered and slept, ignoring Chloe. The next day, Alice was sore. On her way to class, she saw some business school students. Chloe wasn’t there, but there was a familiar face–Garrett Yates.
He approached Alice with a soda.“I heard you’ve been acting tough! You almost pushed Chloe off the roof yesterday!” The students were curious. Alice knew these people? Max was gone, and things seemed calm, yet Garrett Yates was here. Was Alice just an ordinary freshman?
Alice’s tone was calm.“Proof?”
“No proof means you didn’t do it?”
“So?”
Alice took the unopened can from Garrett Yates, twisting it into a mangled mess, spraying soda all over him. Garrett Yates recoiled in shock. She was incredibly strong!
She returned the can.“A warning. Next time, it won’t be so easy. She walked past them.
Garrett Yates yelled, “Stop right there!”

The readers' comments on the novel: Six Brothers Plea for Forgiveness (Alice)
This story is incomplete!!! You get us into the story then you leave us with a cliff hanger. Plus there's so many errors. It is obvious that English is second ( or 3rd) language. Author has mixed up names on several characters. Mixed up he/she , him/her. Made story too long by repetitive sentences. Made it look like the reader wasnt able to retain parts of the story by repeating certain aspects. I know authors do that but this author did it too often. This story lets you see what an eye for an eye would mean to some cultures. Needs MAJOR proof reading. Pro: great family drama. The one emotion you feel the most in this story is anger & discuss. There are a few funny (actually hilarious) parts in there. You want the good guy to win even though he may been at fault for something. You want justice for Alice and you want to see her independent from her brothers totally. I feel the author is on the right track but just needs to clean it up....
Except Alice's and Jack's names, all other names are mixed. And why there is LUKE'S FATHER instead of EATHEN...
I want yo ask that wht Alice's surname is keep on changing from Wolsh to Windham to Lu???? And Andrew to Garett? And Jane's name to Chloe as well...
