Chapter 145
“What evidence do you have? Nah asked Alice “The fortage was deleted. My people say it can’t he recovered. The Garcia family probably deleted it beforehand. Without the footage, there was no proof. What could Alice possibly use?
“You’ll see.” Alice’s eyes were cold and dark. She got into a taxi and left, not wanting to share details with Noah for fear of complications. Once she presented the evidence, everyone would see Chloe’s true colors, and they would disappear from her life forever. Noah looked at the discarded gift bag, a wry smile on his face. He couldn’t accuse Chloe without proof.
Chloe emerged from the school. “Noah, I was asleep and missed your call. I know where Alice lives. I can take you there, but she might not want to see you.” She saw the gift bag. Did you see her already? Had Alice said anything?
Noah stared at Chloe.“Yes, I saw Alice.” He remembered hearing Chloe’s sarcastic reDaniels in the classroom, so different from her usual demeanor. Was she truly as sweet and obedient as she seemed?
Chloe’s expression was stiff. “What did she say about the bar incident?” She was nervous. The Garcia family had deleted the footage, as long as she denied it, no one could prove anything. That’s how it had always been. Without proof, her brothers wouldn’t believe Alice. Noah loosened his tie.“She said she found the evidence from the bar that night.” Chloe panicked. Impossible! The Garcia family would have ensured there were no loose ends.
Noah didn’t say more, turning to leave.
Chloe hurried after him. “Noah, are you looking for Alice? I’ll come with you. I’m worried about her.”
Noah looked at her deeply. “That night at the bar, did you really do nothing?”
“Noah, you suspect me? Maybe Alice told you something, but I didn’t hurt her.” Chloe put on her usual act of innocent victimhood.
Noah was exasperated.“Get in the car!” He needed to know who was lying.
Chloe was secretly delighted. She had to know what evidence Alice had to prepare a countermeasure. But she thought Alice was bluffing.
Alice arrived at the appointed café. It was early; the streets were quiet. She saw someone with a laptop–JJ had said he’d have a laptop.
She took a deep breath, approaching the table. The profile looked familiar. Sitting down, she saw the familiar, handsome face.
She was shocked.“Jack? Why are you here?”
“Surprised? I didn’t know you liked finding mentors in the dark web.” Jack had been almost certain of her identity when she walked in.
“I didn’t know you were J,” she said, surprised.
Jack sat up straighter.“Early bird gets the worm. Eat something. He’d ordered milk and mini
cakes.
Alice wasn’t hungry, focusing
on his laptop. “Is the
footage recovered?”
“Yes, but eat first. The video and the culprit aren’t going anywhere.”
Alice ate a few bites. “I should have contacted you directly.”
“Why didn’t you tell me this was dangerous?”
“I didn’t want to involve you. You’re leaving soon; this would disrupt your life!” She didn’t want him to get into trouble with wealthy people.
He opened his laptop. “The video is here.”
Alice’s heart pounded. The video showed Chloe spraying something on her, and Max and her bodyguards trying to apprehend her.
Alice smiled. “Thank you. This evidence was perfect! Max and Chloe were trapped. Noah strode in.“Alice, why are you meeting with this… doctor?” He hadn’t expected to find her. here, smiling. He’d thought she was looking for evidence at the bar. Could this doctor help. recover footage?
Chloe followed, feigning concern.“‘Alice, Noah’s trying to help. There are plenty of eligible. bachelors in Washington. Why are you with this poor doctor?” She was worried Alice had the footage.
Alice took a mini cake and smashed it onto Chloe’s face. Past and present grievances all at once! Chloe screamed. Alice’s eyes were sharp. Compared to what you sprayed on me at the bar, this cake is gentle!”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Chloe was nervous but refused to confess. The Garcia family had deleted the footage; Alice had no proof.
Noah was shocked.“Alice, you said Chloe sprayed something on you at the bar?” Impossible. Chloe wouldn’t do that.
“Yes, a date–rape drug. Max was there and sent bodyguards to get me. Luckily, I ran into Jack. Otherwise, you’d be seeing me, raped and filmed!” Alice’s eyes were filled with fury. Noah turned to Chloe.“Why didn’t you tell me this?” Chloe had concealed the truth. “Noah, I didn’t do it! Alice’s lying! She has no evidence!” Chloe, cake smeared on her face, looked pathetic as she backed away.
“Who says I don’t have evidence? I recovered the deleted footage!” Alice clicked play.
Chloe’s face fell. It was over. Everything was over.

The readers' comments on the novel: Six Brothers Plea for Forgiveness (Alice)
This story is incomplete!!! You get us into the story then you leave us with a cliff hanger. Plus there's so many errors. It is obvious that English is second ( or 3rd) language. Author has mixed up names on several characters. Mixed up he/she , him/her. Made story too long by repetitive sentences. Made it look like the reader wasnt able to retain parts of the story by repeating certain aspects. I know authors do that but this author did it too often. This story lets you see what an eye for an eye would mean to some cultures. Needs MAJOR proof reading. Pro: great family drama. The one emotion you feel the most in this story is anger & discuss. There are a few funny (actually hilarious) parts in there. You want the good guy to win even though he may been at fault for something. You want justice for Alice and you want to see her independent from her brothers totally. I feel the author is on the right track but just needs to clean it up....
Except Alice's and Jack's names, all other names are mixed. And why there is LUKE'S FATHER instead of EATHEN...
I want yo ask that wht Alice's surname is keep on changing from Wolsh to Windham to Lu???? And Andrew to Garett? And Jane's name to Chloe as well...
