“You said Alice wrote the code?” Ethan was stunned. ‘I… I didn’t know.” And Alice was so young?

Ethan stammered, “I thought you wrote it; she just helped.” He’d assumed Luke was making excuses for Alice. He hadn’t expected it to be true.

Alice stood at the doorway, cold. “First, our parents left each of us a trust fund. My education expenses came from there.” 

“Fine! But your living expenses for all these years–your food, clothing, and shelter–came from Lu Corp! We gave you expensive gifts on birthdays!” 

“You forgot? After our parents died, I stopped celebrating birthdays. You bought expensive gifts for Chloe, not me.”
