Luke tried to explain, “We’re doing this for your own good.” Why would a girl go so far from home? Alice was their only sister; she should stay with them. 

Alice trembled with rage. “We’ve severed ties! You have no right!” They’d made the same decision as in her past life, dictating her college choice. In her past life, despite her scores, she’d been. forced to attend the same college as Chloe. The excuse? Sisterly support. If she disagreed, her allowance would be cut off. 

She hung up and called her teacher. “Teacher, you know my family. I didn’t expect them to make this decision for me. I’m going to Harvard University. I need to change my account and password.” 

“I understand. I’ll contact Harvard University. Come to school; we’ll finalize your application.” The teacher knew of the Winds‘ favoritism but was shocked by its extent. A valedictorian rejecting Harvard University? They were trying to ruin Alice! 

After hanging up, 

Alice got ready to leave. She glanced at Jack’s apartment door, but decided not to tell him. She could handle this herself. She couldn’t always rely on him. 

She took a taxi to school. She met with the Harvard University admissions officer. Her teacher introduced her.“This is Alice. I’ve already explained her family situation, but this isn’t her 

decision.” 

“We understand. Based on your scores, finance, computer science, and mathematics are all options. Tell us your interests.” 

Alice had already decided; she was interested in computer science and medicine 

Hours passed before the meeting ended. Leaving the room, she saw the setting sun, the warm air. She was in a good mood; nobody could change her college application this time. ‘Alice, what are you doing here?” Ethan was surprised.“Are you here to gloat? Alice’s voice was icy.“Why can’t I be here? Do you own the school?” 

“Alice, watch your tone!” 

“I’ll mirror your tone. Her disgust was unconcealed. Especially after learning about their meddling with her college application. 

Chloe, anxious, feigned distress.“Alice, are you here to testify against me? Why would you. frame me?” She assumed Alice wouldn’t help her. 

Ethan frowned.“Alice, what did you tell the school? You’ll be held accountable!” Alice, in a simple white t–shirt, looked annoyed. A voice behind her said, “Mr. Windham, Alice ist here for another matter, not Chloe’s.” Her teacher intervened. 

Ethan frowned. “Then why is she here? It can’t be anything good!” He hadn’t slept well after the severance agreement. 

“It’s good news! Harvard University’s admissions officer came to discuss Alice’s application.” The teacher said this deliberately; she couldn’t understand why the Winds wouldn’t let Alice go to Harvard University. 

Ethan’s face changed. “Didn’t I already refuse?” 

This is Alice’s choice. Even her family can’t 

stop her.”

Ethan’s anger towards Alice flared.“Alice, are you happy now? What’s there to be proud of Alice smirked.“I’m the top student, so yes. But someone who cheated and still can’t university… well…”
