She slowly raised her head and met Nadia Sterling's guarded, judgmental stare.

"It really is you!" Nadia's initial surprise quickly melted into a mocking sneer. "Oh, wait, my mistake. Your last name isn't Sterling anymore. How is life treating you, you little fraud, now that the family kicked you to the curb for stealing my identity?"

The last thing Hulda expected was to run into someone from the Sterling family here. If she had her way, she would go the rest of her life without ever interacting with any of them again.

Faced with Nadia's taunts, she didn't waste her breath. She simply looked away and tried to step around her, just wanting to get out of there as quickly as possible.

But Nadia wasn't going to let her off that easily. She snapped her fingers at her assistant. "Block her!"

With her path cut off, Hulda realized the other woman had no intention of letting her leave peacefully.

"Alright, fraud, tell the truth. What are you sneaking around the hospital for?" Nadia's eyes locked onto Hulda, searching for any sign of guilt.

"I'm here to see a doctor." Hulda had zero interest in dragging this out.

"Liar! If you were here to see a doctor, you'd be in the outpatient clinic! Why are you in the VIP inpatient wing?" Nadia wasn't entirely stupid. She smirked triumphantly. "Things aren't going so well for you out in the real world, are they? You found out Uncle Bertram was admitted here, so you snuck in trying to beg him to let you back into the family, didn't you?"

The 'Uncle Bertram' she was referring to was the patriarch of the Sterling family, the billionaire chairman of Trident Corporation. And Nadia was the long-lost true heiress of the family's second branch. As for the fake heiress...

Hulda shook her head. "I had no idea he was here. If you're here to visit him, you should probably head inside instead of wasting your time with me."

Nadia checked her watch. She really did need to hurry. Her uncle was a notorious workaholic who ran his empire even from a hospital bed, and she had amazing news she couldn't wait to share with him.

"Listen to me, fraud. You better know your place and stay the hell away from the Sterlings. Otherwise, I will make sure you completely disappear from the face of the earth!"

Hulda knew perfectly well that with the Sterlings' resources, they could make a threat like that a reality without breaking a sweat.
