His goal had been achieved!
Originally, Dominic Hale never intended to fight Melanie Royce to the bitter end.
But Holden Lockridge had been breathing down his neck, demanding he protect the Lockridge Group's market share in the health supplement industry at all costs.
Dominic knew full well that playing by the rules wouldn't cut it.
Especially since Melanie absolutely refused to collaborate with them.
Given the circumstances, he naturally had to resort to some underhanded tactics.
Fortunately... Reginald Thorne had always maintained a solid relationship with the Lockridge family.
As long as he could use Vice Director Thorne to force the Royce Group to halt production and sales, it wouldn't matter if their products eventually passed inspection. The delay alone would buy the Lockridge family enough time.
That way, he could finally give Holden an acceptable answer.
Dominic's eyes darted around, calculating his next move.
One look at him, and Melanie knew he and Reginald were in cahoots.
"Is Vice Director Thorne suggesting..." Melanie began smoothly, "that the Royce Group should halt all production and sales without a single shred of concrete evidence?"
Hearing her blunt assessment, Reginald immediately grew defensive.
"What do you mean, no concrete evidence?"
He glared at Melanie and aggressively tapped the stack of complaint forms in his hand.
"Isn't this evidence?"
"But those are just—"
"Alright, alright, that's enough out of you."
Reginald hurriedly cut her off.
"Let me tell you, I'm simply following standard regulatory procedures..."
"Vice Director Thorne!"
Suddenly, a sharp voice called out his name.
Reginald, Dominic, and Melanie turned in unison toward the sound.
Minister Lilian Halevy, dripping in elegant couture and dazzling jewels, approached them with a graceful, measured stride.
The moment she spotted the Minister, Leila Langley's eyes lit up like floodlights.
"Minister Halevy!"
