Wasting no time, Ray signaled his men, and the bodyguards immediately fanned out to sweep every inch of the West mansion.
Martin bellowed in outrage, “Stop! Call the police! Call the police right now!”
However, no one answered his commands, as all the servants had already been restrained.
Martin whipped out his phone, but before he could even dial, Ray snatched the device from his hand and powered it off.
Ten minutes later, the bodyguards reconvened in the living room.
There was no trace of Ron or Winnie anywhere.
Ray's expression turned incredibly grim. He locked his eyes onto Martin, scrutinizing every micro-expression on the older man's face.
“Chairman West, are you absolutely certain Mr. Ron hasn't returned in the last two days?”
“I swear it! What exactly are you implying? What happened to Ron? Is he no longer at Oakridge Heights?”
Martin demanded, his voice trembling with rage.
His shock and anxiety appeared completely authentic, as though he truly had no idea his grandson was missing.
Ray remained silent and pulled out his phone to call Winnie again.
This time, the phone was completely turned off. Ray looked at Martin.
“Where is Ms. West?”
Ray had already noticed Stella's absence.
Martin turned to his butler. “Where is Stella?”
The butler stepped forward nervously. “She left first thing this morning.”
“Where did she go?”
“She said she was going shopping with her friends.”
“Call her immediately! Tell her to get back here!”
“Chairman West, it's highly likely that Mr. Ron has been kidnapped. If you want to see him again, you'd better cooperate. Otherwise, I have every reason to suspect you are the one hiding him.”
Martin let out a dark, incredulous laugh. “Me? Hiding Ron? Why the hell would I hide my own grandson?! Let me make one thing perfectly clear—Ron is my only heir. If a single hair on his head is harmed, I will scorch the earth! You better find him and bring him home!”
Ray studied Martin's face closely but failed to find a single crack in his facade.
Ignoring the old man, Ray forced the maid to lead him upstairs.
Ten minutes later, Ray and his team marched out of the mansion.
Stepping into his vehicle, Ray ordered the driver to head straight to Oakridge Heights while he immediately dialed Remington.
Remington answered almost instantly, his voice low.
“Do you have him?”
Ray's tone was icy. “Boss, he's gone.”
Remington, who had already boarded a helicopter bound for Fairview, felt his stomach drop.

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
