Chapter 64
Hades POV
“Hades, what do you think about two weeks from now?” Marissa interrupts my train of thought, her voice eager.
“Two weeks?” I struggled to remember what we were discussing as I watched the warriors training in front of me.
I scowled, watching some of them make the same mistake, leaving openings in their attacks, itching to correct them even as Marissa continued to take up my precious time.
“The wedding date?” Marissa prompts, “You agreed to discuss it. Two weeks would be plenty of time to prepare. It doesn’t have to be a large one, I can agree to a small, intimate one.”
Gods, she was like a pest I couldn’t get rid of, her voice irritating beyond belief, giving me a headache that began to flare to life behind my eyes. I struggled to keep my face neautral, not wanting to give my irritation away, but it was incredibly difficult given that Lucifer was adamantly making his displeasure known.
“A month would be better,” I answered absently.
Even a month felt too soon. I struggled to keep my expression neutral as Marissa scowled. Clearly, she disagreed with me and wasn’t even bothering to hide it. I frowned at her and her expression immediately changed, even if her attitude didn’t.
illusions as to what kind of man I was.
“A simple ceremony,” my voice is curt, “nothing over the top. I don’t like being in the spotlight, and this is merely a means to make it official between us.”
An emphasis on the last bit of the sentence, causign her to look slightly disgruntled before she reluctantly decided to agree with me.
“I promise,” she said, bobbing her head up and down, “you won’t get any argument with me.”
She dashes off before I can say anything more. Thank fuck. At least now I can get back to my job. I walk amongst the warriors, correcting their stances, complimenting them, and making suggestions. They are fighting in human form today, a necessity in case they are weakened by wolfsbane or silver. I wanted my warriors to be capable of defending and attacking in both human form and wolf form. It might just save their lives one day. Especially if they were injured by those fucking hunters that liked to hunt us down like animals.
