Chapter 33
She takes a deep breath. “I expect you to continue serving your sister. She needs to win Alpha Hades affections and you can’t stand in her way. Do what you have to do to support her. I don’t care if you both have to fight dirty to succeed. Marissa must become Luna of the pack, and you…” She tilts her head and eyes me with narrowed eyes, “you will come back to the pack once she has finally married Hades and earned her title.”
“I’m not a miracle worker,” I said harshly, “if she keeps acting up like this, then she’s only asking to be replaced.”
She seethes and uses the spell again. I double over, grabbing my stomach and howling in pain. It’s all
fake but it satisfies her.
“Did I ask for your opinion?” she snarled.
I straighten back up. She folds her arms across her chest. “Start by putting a good word in with Hade’s sister and helping Marissa make up with her. She made a mistake,” she allowed, “but it’s fixable. You need to be more accommodating, speak on your sister’s behalf, and extol her virtues to other omegas and pack members when you get the chance.”
“I can’t force Hades to like her.”
I look directly in her eyes, still defiant, still refusing to be the victim she’s come to expect.
“My word is my bond. Take it or leave it, but if you help and I’m telling the truth, then you have nothing to lose, do you?”
She walks to the door and opens it, pausing in the doorway and glancing over her shoulder, narrowing her eyes.
“I suggest you think about it. The longer it takes Marissa to get married and the less support you decide to provide, the more I’ll take joy in punishing you. Accept my offer, it’s the smartest thing to do in your position,” she warned icily.
She left. I smiled coldly. I didn’t have anything to lose, not anymore, but she did. Her and her precious daughter. I was looking forward to seeing the look on both their faces when they realized the slave they had abused for so long, was no longer their puppet and had arranged for their downfall personally. Now all I had to do was continue to expose Marissa and continue my seduction of Hades. One way or another, I was going to win this battle and then the war. I went to sleep with a dark smile on my face.
